  1. Very nice, I once toyed with the idea to build a Ala Kart sedan delivery. With this inspiration I may just got back and do it
  2. Went to a police auction years back and they had a 64 Sport Fury with the Street Wedge seized from a drug dealer. Went for way more than my wallet could bear
  3. Jan and Dean recorded three versions of Dead Mans Curve Versions #1 & 3 - "my frenched tail lights", "the strip was deserted" and "pulled her out and there I was" Version #2 - "my six tail lights", "the street was deserted" and "pulled her out and there we were"
  4. MY EYES, MY EYES how can I unsee those???
  5. "Mercury Blues" was originally called "Mercury Boogie "written by K.C.Douglas . The info I found states it was written sometime in 1948.
  6. The Automobile Spin was Only music , no lyrics , so it wasn't a song
  7. https://www.flickr.com/photos/iowahawk_blog/sets/72157624508519475/show/ The Hot Rod Lincoln Photos
  8. There was a 66 Hemi Under Glass and a 67 Hemi Under Glass the newer kit seems to be a 67 , the older kit from what I can find out is a 66
  9. So is the new Dart a foreign car ? if so it should be called the Dardo (Italian for Dart)
  10. The there is always Jan & Deans "Schlock Rod" but it's not in the Poll Bucket T deserves a mention also
  11. Hot Rod Lincoln was written about a specific car as described in the song. In the case of Little Deuce Coupe it was written and then a car was found that suited the song for a album cover. In the song the Deuce Coupe there was little to actually describe the car, being only that it was a Deuce Coupe with a flathead mill (actually it was a OHV V8) and a 4 speed stick (actually it was an automatic) Love both cars and both songs but I am still going with HRL They are both on my list of future projects along with the original version of Tweedy Pie with the Flatty
  12. I love all three but I have to go with Hot Rod Lincoln it was based on a real car (currently in a museum in Washington State). I am not sure which one had the most covers but would put my money Hot Rod Lincoln by Charlie Ryan The real Hot Rod Lincoln . Originally it was black but Charlie updated it a few years before he passed.
  13. Plenty of Dart 4 doors thru the years
  14. Thanks Chuck and MrO That's what I wanted to know Jon
  15. I see where the Customizing Jr kit and Trophy series kit and a light mention of the Vegas kit where compared but fail to see any mention of the "Classics" kit of 2003 or the "2 in 1" kit of 1989. Please open my eyes to what I seem to be missing
  16. I have the Vegas Bird along with the 2003 Classics and the 1989 kit. Are these the same or is one a better build?
  17. I don't mind if it's not retro, although I wouldn't mind there being a retro version of the Dart (I would prefer the 64). It may be a nice little car but don't get all giggly about the Dart coming back when it is just another new little car just like all the other new little cars. They may give it special badgeing and maybe some cool graphics but you can put a tuxedo on a turkey but it will still be a turkey, maybe a well dressed turkey but still the same as all the turkeys. (I am not saying the new Dart is a turkey just making a point)
  18. That still doesn't make it Retro. Just another new (nothing special) car with a Old name.
  19. Apparently it is not a retro car in styling just another small car "blah blah" car with the Dart name on it.
  20. There was no "Retro" back in the 60's because from the 30's until the early 70's the cars that came out on the market were better than the ones of previous years. There was no need or even a market for retro. In the mid 70's when the Gas Crisis hit the market changed to small cheap gas thrifty cars with very little to attract the true car Guys. This seems to be the trend up to today. Thou the cars are more advanced and are safer, faster and more driver friendly they don't appeal to the earlier generation Car Guy. The "Muscle car era ended in the 70's and there is still a market for them. There were a lot guys that could not afford them back in the day and now they have the funds but the original cars are still way up there in price (no thanks to Barret Jackson) but you can buy a retro Challenger, Mustang, Charger and a couple others for a reasonable amount. That is just a point of view from an "Old Car Guy"
  21. sounds like another Dartbummer
  22. Old School is always Cool I like it
  23. The new Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers seem to sell very well wth only two doors but then again they dont look like a Magnum with the back of the roof gone. Any more being said about a new Barracuda using the Challenger platform?
