  1. Okay, now I've seen everything...........I hope!! Steve
  2. Thanks so much guys!! Thanks Logan! I don't know that I would have tried doing them this way if it weren't for all of the fantastic input that I received from the "Olds W-30 Intake Tubing" thread! For the most part, everyone was extremely helpful. Steve
  3. Lot of really nice stuff there Roger! I especially like the '68 Chevelle! Probably the best one I've seen so far. The color is great! Steve
  4. Joking. I can buy cheese. Steve
  5. Thanks so much for your great accolades everyone! I consider myself somewhere along the lines of a "Jack of all trades, but master of none" when it comes to building. There are plenty of builders out there that are much more highly skilled than I am, but I'm not afraid to give things a whirl and it's very enjoyable for me. I guess I have never had any desire to be "the best", just the best that I can be. And above all, having fun is the absolute ultimate goal! Again, thanks to all of you! Your kind words are humbling! Steve
  6. Reminds me a little of Bob Dylan. Possibly one of the greatest song writers that ever lived, but It's hard for me to listen to "him". Steve
  7. Especially since I hadn't even participated in this thread.
  8. I have to agree. I get it, he's "the boss", a musical icon. But I have never cared for the music. Every song sounds the same to me. Steve
  9. I can relate to that as well! Steve
  10. Thanks guys! That's one thing that I have managed to perfect over the years. Steve
  11. I think we're good to go. Just a little refinement, re-shaping and paint, and they should be an improvement. Steve
  12. And there we have it. Except for a little refining and re-shaping later, they're finished. Steve
  13. You can also consider trying Testors clear lacquer in a rattle can. It's very mild and you can spray it over most any paint without issue. Steve
  14. Thanks Peter. I have some Testors enamel primer that I used on something else recently that seemed to fill pretty well. Better than I wanted it to last time as a matter of fact. A couple of coats of that followed by color might be all that it takes. Steve
  15. I tried not to get the spacing too precise, which really didn't take much trying. The main thing that I wanted to do with the spacing was to "bunch up" the coils a little bit on the inside curve of the bends. As far as the "wrinkles" go, I'm not certain how one would accomplish that. Ideas? Steve
  16. I can relate. Steve
  17. Thanks guys!! First I want to thank all of those that were so helpful in the "Olds W-30 Intake Tubing" thread for helping to walk me through to a viable option. Thanks to your help, I've settled on electing to scratch build new ones with things that I had on hand in the shop. A pretty simple solution really, of just cutting a length of styrene tubing, flattening it slightly, bending it to shape, and wrapping it with very thinly stretched sprue. The added thickness of the new ducts should help with the appearance under the hood, I believe. Thanks guys! Steve
  18. Finished up the driver's side duct. I'm thinking this will work just fine. Steve
  19. That is one sweet looking group!! Steve
  20. That's pretty neat Luke! A friend of my wife's had one exactly like that in high school. Steve
  21. Awww, I want to learn to make cheese! Steve
  22. This is a case where the "accessories" are much nicer than the car! Steve
  23. Gees Richard!! Have you been hunkered down in a corner of my shop somewhere?! This is exactly the approach I've been working on! I thought I would at least give it a try with stuff that I have on hand. The only variation is that instead of investing in more thin rod, I just stretched some sprue very thinly to about the thickness of thread. Started wrapping, checking spacing as I go, and welding it in place a few winds at a time. So far, it's going well. And as you stated, the sprue is thin enough that I believe a coat or two of fairly thick paint should soften the edges enough. I do want to thank Bill profusely for his offer of the heat shrink! I appreciate all of the great guys on the board who are so willing to lend a hand when they can! Thanks guys!! Here's where I'm at so far. Steve
  24. Sorry Bill. Your message limit must have been reached. I tried but was informed that you could not receive messages. You could PM me if you would like. Steve
  25. I can grant that request Michael if you can please devote as much attention to censuring the individual who propagated the disturbance in the first place, as you do the one defending himself. Steve
