  1. Looks good man. Nice work on the low hitch.
  2. Looks great Chuck. Gettin me inspired to build 1.
  3. Thanks for the tip Chuck. Now i just need to work on makin a paint booth to keep the dirt and bugs off it.
  4. Dont forget frustrating, aggravating, the sudden urge to cuss like a sailor, especially when doing mirrors, and a feeling of great accomplishment when you finish a truck and you like it!
  5. Thats good to know. I may have to order another Prostar hood if the 1 i have now keeps givin me fits. Some reason i cant get paint on it without something going wrong.
  6. Nice start. I want to do another DR stretch it and use that trailer.
  7. We get away with it out here because of the 40' king pin to axle deal. If the pin was in the standard location it wouldnt be legal here. There would a mile of swing off the back.
  8. Thats the big key to all of it, you liking it.
  9. It shouldnt be too hard, just remember to let the paint CURE before doing the next color.
  10. He may have dropped cuz hes gonna be sittin for a few days. But its hard to tell 4 foot when your standin back. But id agree with Matt since hes in Ohio.
  11. Ill be converting it from whatever they say it is to a Caterpillar excavator, not sure what model yet, need to do more research. I will be using genuine Cat yellow.
  12. Its a really simple tesr down. 1 screw holds the cab and arm assembly on. 3 screws hold the arm cab glass to cab body. The tracks are just basically giant rubber bands.
  13. This a little side project. Shouldnt real difficult. Im gonna strip it down, paint, put it back together and wait till i can make decals for it.
  14. Its good kit to start off with as far big trucks go. Dont expect a ton of detail. It does build up nice. If your comfortable in modeling and scratch building, this kit does dress up nice. Im gonna be startin 1 here soon. Mine for sure will not be box length wheelbase or ride height or kit rolling stock. You made a good choice, a few members have said to treat each step of the instructions like an individual kit, get each step right, itll fall into place. Take your time on the rims and tires if you stick with the kit stuff, the "bead" can be a bit tricky.
  15. Id say if your going for the Harley edition, open it up like the 1:1. You already have the grille, may as well go all in.
  16. Double Take Replicas makes super singles as does class a resins
  17. Very cool. I have the hot wheels, about 4, still in the package, amongst 1000s of others. Im may have to do that, build up a hot wheels. Well done and congrats.
  18. Oh boy, stirrin the pot are ya.
  19. Im just curious if anybodys purchase of kit is effected by the box art. If the art looks cheesy does it make you think the kit is cheesy. Or can you look past the art and see what you want to see.
  20. Got mine today. Very nice work Terry. If anyone is wondering about this, its cast wonderfully. Minimal clean up, no divots or bubbles. Highly recommended to anyone interested in the conversion!
  21. Well maybe 2016 they will do something new truck wise. All we can do is deal with whatever they put out. I might get 1 or 2 just to build 1 and stash the other. I need to build at least 1 of every kit, i can get anyways for a decent price.
  22. Man that looks good. It looks like its waitin for the driver to show and go for a run with. Looks like its sittin in a shippers yard.
  23. Very nice so far. Your builds cool to watch and entertaining with your helper there.
