  1. Thanks guys, it's a great kit to build.
  2. Thanks guys.
  3. Very nice, keep up the good work!
  4. The only time there's large horns behind a grill around here, is when someone hits a cow with their truck!
  5. Thank you guys, I'll have to post some pix after i touch this up.
  6. Purdy! You did a nice job.
  7. Not quite finished, but will wrap it up this week. I'll add a few paint details yet. I need to find one spinner for the front left wheel. If your building one of these, they are fragile. If you drop a small piece, good luck finding it. Thanks for looking, J2
  8. No not like crying, though I have almost cried over the issue. I have had a couple resin bodies weep oils after being on the shelf for a while. Any suggestions on a fix? How about prevention? And before you say it, Yes I washed them, prep't and sealed, primed, gassed out and left final paint to cure before handling and wore gloves the whole time! Thanks for your time, J2
  9. Very well done! Nice work on the Camaro.
  10. I'm blown away by the details, very well done.
  11. Reasonable? I'd say. Great looking model right there!
  12. This is what a true "RAT" is all about. A TRUE biker who rides his bike every where, never works on the machine except when it breaks down. Usually on the side of the road. The only time the machine is cleaned is when it rains, and the term "Rat" is a reference to a "Pack Rat." Some one who never throws anything away. In the old days these Pack rats carried all they owned on their bikes with them. They strapped on any and every thing they found. So moving forward in history. It seems that the Rodders decided to capture this look in the automobile world. They took old parts from several cars and put them together to make one car. Some what, cleaned up the pack rat side of the look and entered them in shows. I would have to guess, but I believe some old time biker saw a car like this at a show and thought it reminded him of a "Rat Bike" and the name Rat Rod was born! The funny thing is, we in this hobby, take bits and pieces from several deferent kits, add some personal touches and spare parts all the time. We call them MODELS! The idea of breaking up contest into groups is nothing new. I believe it just makes things easier. I like specific grouping myself. J2
  13. It was a pretty good show, lots of people, plains, armor and yes plenty of cars. Saw some old friends and made new as well. Here's some pix, taken by my son, he's 11!... Blizcon 2011 The red Monti is my favorite. Very well done piece.
  14. Spare Parts! What a great project. From the stance to all of the body mods, the interior and the slight chassis changes. I like it. Re-scribing the panels and the tail lights caught my eye first, along with the color.
  15. OUTSTANDING IN EVERY WAY!

    "MonkeyShine"

Well steel away, no better flattery than to have an idea stolen. Thanks, and yes it was on the bay. Didn't get what I hoped, but ya never do.
  17. From the Revell Five Window, with parts from their 37 Ford PU and Parts Box. I used Gray primer, Silver, Red primer and Tamiya Dark Yellow for color. Then some real rust and dry brushing. Lots of fun, Will do another Ratty.
  18. Very nicely done, great work on the models. The Chemtrails in the sky of the first picture add a lot of realism.

Here is a link to the WIP pix. And the front wheels & tires are from an AMT 34, the rear wheels are from a Grant King Sprint Car. I think the slicks are from the AMT Double Dragster. Thanks Again, J2. My link

  21. Might not be plastic, but it is a scale model. And a very nice one indeed.
