Bronco to go under cover….
James2 replied to James2's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Still filling the frame rails and trying a different fuel system. I repositioned the air intake to clear the hood. -
My rendition of the 34 Ford 5 window coupe. Drag City Castings chopped body, Base kit by AMT with a few Revell components mixed in. The engine is Pontiac from the Blue Printers Series, Splash Paints Seamist Green, custom mix Tamyia gold, semi and flat black colors. I added my own fuel and brake lines, made a set of taillights, scratch made the headers and exhaust from evergreen styrene. The interior is somewhat detailed but hard to see through the diminished windows. Thanks for looking.... The Build-

Pretty nice weather yesterday so after work having pre-sanded the body over the weekend. I got things set up and spayed a little Seamist Green and 2x clear from Splash paints on the 34. Now to cure. The chassis should really pop now.

I will take your advice and test fit beforehand. I had a few minutes today so I started cleaning up the chassis and filling the front of the frame rails. -

The upside of the hobby- What part or parts do you enjoy the most?

Which seems impossible! -
Pretty quiet day, shot a little Alclad on the bike parts. Black base frame and oil tank. Chrome on the bits, my wife’s nail polish on the gas tank. The smaller or should I say tiny parts will get brush on Revell Chrome.

I have been building just for myself as of late, I find my bench time to be a means of escape. Kind of like being in the ZONE, I can put aside any number of life duties and just get lost in the moment. Like any form of art, the creating of something inspired by the mind and/or the heart is an accomplishment that brings joy, or at least happiness. If one is lucky, to find friendship along the way, then they have really accomplished something. -
This is looking really nice, your attention to detail is a reminder to not give up on the small stuff.

Nice and cleanly done....

I thought it is a repo, but don’t really know the history. I will say it’s bit rough, very small and finicky pieces. I’ve had to redesign the assembly to make it work my way. There is a discussion somewhere here…

The downside of the hobby - what annoys you?
James2 replied to Mike C's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I agree with you, especially the online part. Most everyone in this group is considerate. It seems like FB is full of some bad groups and even show venders can be a bit grumpy. I certainly have reduced my circle of friends over the years. As far as skin goes, mine has become like shoe leather. I suppose it’s all part of the experience! -

The most annoying thing in this hobby is the inability for some people to keep their opinions to themselves. Unsolicited input on a public venue is one of the worst. Me personally, I find the amount of rudeness by fellow builders is astonishing. All of the small nuisances that come from kit manufacture can be overcome, but the unkindness of people may cause some to depart the hobby. IMO -
Eric Ritz built a 1/25 bike with metal wheels but I don’t know where they came from. I made a velocity stack and worked on the exhaust today. Getting ready to prime. I like a single headlight and found spotlight in my spare parts that works just fine.
