  1. Decided to use the '41 wheels anyway. Enlarged the wheel openings a bit.
  2. Not quite on the road but close. A 3/4 ton 53 International with "borrowed" trim and a plywood tailgate. Anyone recognize the crest?
  3. She's a beauty. My uncle had one almost identical. Our bishop had a black one with red interior.
  4. I did some measurin' & figgurin". The real cars have 16 and 15 inch wheels respectively. Which means 31" and 27.6" diameters. The 41 tire is 32.4 mm which in 1/24 works out to 30.5 inches. In 1/25 it represents 31.8". The 48's tire is 27.5 mm which in 1/25 represents 27". So the scale added to the different size it what amplfies the difference. So we'll have to play it by ear and hope it looks OK. Failing that, there's always mag wheels.
  5. I think it is a challenge for most everybody. the body is in about 12 different pieces. It assembles around the chassis so give some challenges just in sequencing the painting. And from what I have read here about it appears to be "off" in certain proportions. But yes the spare hubcap looks way better. Now again , do I cast the whole thing and cut out the tire part (4 times) or do I separate the kit item with the intent of rejoining them after?
  6. The difference in wheels likely comes from the difference in scale, however I wouldn't have expected it to be as much.
  7. Eric, and Richard, now there is food for thought. thank you for the suggestions.
  8. Yes, from RMR. https://rmrmodels.com/collections/trucks-1/products/1963-1971-gladiator-grill
  9. While some of the pre-assemblies are curing I looked at two issues. the improbable headlight lenses will be easily replaced with some PE units. The wheels will be a different story. the kit's wheels have no features so I thought I'd use the 41's. There is a HUGE difference in size. Will have to think about this.
  10. That's a resin engine Carl. I can't remember where I got it. Turned out OK.
  11. I only have two instances I can think of. i often buy engines from breakers on eBay. The last batch hasn't arrived yet and it has been over a month. One day the tracking said it has been missent, whatever that means. Now it says it is on the way. The other time is when I was a kit a few years ago. I had ordered an Edsel Ranger kit from an ad on the back of a comic book. Never got it. Went to the post office everyday for weeks, always disappointed.
  12. I looked this up. Any reason for all the colors?
  13. Your memory is better than mine. And do you remember if this was the reason I was looking for one?
  14. I figured the table may as well be made of car parts. So a transmission/bell housing combo happened to be there. A glass top on this might catch it.
  15. Next one will be this. A peek around the box suggests I will need the help of my spare '41.
  16. Ford Special Six, OHV L6, 170 cu.in./ 105 hp.
  17. Excellent repair.
  18. Sad to hear your predicament. I wonder how many of us have had something just disappear like that.
  19. Thanks guys. Glad you like it.
  20. The seated figure is in the Shapeways shopping cart, waiting for a cash infusion. I have to learn how to make magazines. I'm sure I can come up with some ideas for a coffee table.
  21. Looks like you read it from the start Bruce.. Thanks for the kind comments.
  22. I have to admit, it does look better with taillights...even if they are homemade.
  23. There it is, parked in front of the FTB building.
  24. This is what I have as well.
