  1. At one time, the space between the office door and the shop door was occupied by lockers and the bookshelf Then later, it was the engine display stand. After that was moved the Boss used to park one of his cars there. they were mostly in the way. One day, he saw this. And it turns out he has a junk Merc.
  2. Now you guys are putting ideas in my head. Crackerbox? 9500?
  3. Not right away. Who knows I might put it into something where it never was
  4. Allison GT-404 gas turbine. Two shaft, regenerated gas turbine producing 300-325 hp.
  5. And this is what I ended up with. It was a fun little job.
  6. I have his molds. I doubt I'll ever cast the engine. So if one of the casters is interested....
  7. A while back, I had purchased a gluebomb version of the AMT turbine. I dissasembled it to refinish it . Then I started looking for images of the real unit. I was planning to really jazz it up with pipes and foil and other turbiney stuff like this. All I could find is photos of the model and old grainy black & white from period articles. And this one of a unit on display in the Delco-Remy section of A Rolls-Royce heritage museum. So plain green it is.
  8. They are about 15" x 30" and sit on adjacent shelves in a bookcase.
  9. B & B. Brawn & Beauty. Love it.
  10. Chevrolet 427 L88. OHV V8, 427 cu.in./435 h.p. (as advertised), pundits claim it was closer to 500.
  11. Chevrolet 427 L71. OHV V8, 3x2 bbl., 427 cu.in./ 435 hp
  12. And the tour continues. The Boss is showing the potential customer around the dyno room.
  13. Looking good. This is where the hotrodders went to after the war
  14. The Boss IS Printle Ray. I had asked for a guy with a fedora and his hands in his pockets. He gave several examples and I picked him.
  15. You are correct, Printle figures are 1/24. The Boss is 7.23 cm which translates to 68.3 inches in 1/14 and 71 inches in 1:25. The big fellow is 7.55 cm which translates to 71.3 in 1/14 and 74.3 in 1/25. Of course, if the Boss' hat was off, he'd be shorter.
  16. Very classy display.
  17. Oops! Should have reread the thread.
  18. X2, and where did you get the drive tires?
  19. The Boss is giving the grand tour to a potentially lucrative customer.
