Working on the cart.

Now why didn't I leave the flathead in there and build it stock. This is proving to be a lot of mods. are those rear shocks too "splayed"?

Stole some upper A-arms from a junk front end.

Looks like the little extinguisher by the door may not have enough oomph in it to put out a fire in an engine that is running flat out. So A hobby knife blade container, a curtain glide and some odds and sods are coming to the rescue. They will become a large cart type extinguisher.

Nice work. you say you had valve covers made. Where? They are like the ones I made for the 702 .

The ones I know of were winched up onto the fifth wheel.

What I meant is the ramp I showed is usually found alongside the tracks. They drive stuff up the ramp and over onto the flatcar.

Those are made to load railroad flatcars. But a smaller version which matches the height of the Bedford's bed would work fine.

Similar mods to the rear fender wells allowed the wheels to tuck in. I'll decide on the level of rake later.

Yeah, I just noticed that looking at several photos. And depending when AMT brought that out,it is likely earlier than the 394. Looks like all I need to put it back is a pair of valve covers. I could put the Boss valve covers in the diorama. No sense wasting anything. By the way the photos of the original issues brought back some memories. I had built this as a kid and painted it red with black fenders to match the '48 Chevy my uncle was driving.

When you buy a bagful of engines you never know what you get until you take a closer look. I thing someone wanted a Boss 9 so he made one with a pair of valve covers. Anyone recognize the engine? Looks like a y-block to me, or a flathead. Just curious

After playing with various positions, I found that if I removed the front crossmember and replaced it with a channel I could get the front suspension pretty well where I want it.

Back to London and take a photo of the actual street from the same corner with the idea of merging where the two images meet.

This will be my entry for the 2019 build off. It will be a Paystar heavy hauler with crane like the one shown. The Paystar will be from the mixer kit, the mixer itself having gone to another home. The crane is the KFS item. The sleeper will likely come from the 4300 kit.
