  1. X2. It makes mine look like it was done by a two year old . It may push me into redoing it aiming for your level.
  2. They have three series, enamels, acrylics and lacquers.
  3. Unfortunately, the closest bottle is 500 miles away. I should have ordered some along with it. I do have some of the Metalizer thinner though. Probably a different formulation. What about mineral spirits?
  4. Turns out it is ModelMaster not Tamyia. I KNOW those need thinning.. I imagine regular thinner would work.
  5. Modified the hubs and minilites to fit the Jag suspension. I think they'll look neat.
  6. Are the Tamiya acrylics airbrush ready or do they need to be thinned. If so, by how much?
  7. After sanding away and scraping old glue joints I keep finding some I missed. Gotta get these halves to "close" tight. Drilled out and replaced some pins. Thinking of using those beautiful Chief Joseph minilites. I wonder which hub would be appropriate.
  8. That's a model?
  9. Yes! liking it very much.
  10. Welcome John. You'll like it here.
  11. Welcome Andrea. You'll like it here.
  12. X2
  13. Love it.
  14. One of the headlight bezels came off the car in several pieces. Attempted to piece it back together using the opening as a guide. Didn't work out too well. Ended up attempting to make one out of wire. Glued the top bar on the windshield frame as well. And, by the way, it doehe rear of the cockpit opening.
  15. The "unpainting" is well under way.
  16. Turns out it is molded in white. I had painted the interior of the body as well and so it wasn't clear coated red plastic after all,.Ahhhhh.. the golden years.
  17. After the less than glamorous finish of the Avanti, the next one will be a rebuild. This Jag is from my clearcoat over bare plastic period and has suffered the Saran Wrap reaction like several of the others which were in storage for years. I think I'll disassemble it completely and start from scratch. Now if I could only figure out the manufacturer, I could look up the instructions. Somehow Monogram come to mind after looking at several on the internet. It is molded in red.
  18. Big difference, thank you very, very much.
  19. Same here.
  20. FTB has just completed two Ford engines that are anything but similar, a 361 FE out of a 1958 Edsel and a Super Stallion.
  21. That will be my gift for this week. Merci beaucoup.
  22. Understatement for sure.
  23. Two old models from a deceased friend's son and a few kits to add to the stash.
  24. There it is alone and with its brother.
