  1. After seeing this, I'm not sure if I'll want to post mine. Is your garage door a diorama or is it a large photograph?
  2. Harry I thought YOU had built them for the manufacturer.
  3. It lost a bit of a shine overnight but is still OK. Now for the next steps. I hope someone helps with this. This is how I think it should go: Leave it to harden Attempt to polish the nibs & fuzz with a clean microfiber cloth. If not sand with very fine paper. BMF, then clear or: Leave to harden BMF Clear Sand with very fine paper, re-clear Rub Please , I need guidance with this.
  4. Thanks guys, I'm happy with it too. There are many dust nibs and small fibres on it. I imagine they'll polish out.
  5. Added a Ford Flathead, a framed logo of a supplier and a poster of a GMC 702. Installed the wooden frame around the door.
  6. Shaved of the letters & made some location holes. Masked off the engine compartment which had already been painted black. Tried my hand at paintin'er. The first photo was taken in the booth. The light in the booth gives it an orangey glow. So I took a couple on the bench.
  7. I wonder if there is anything at all for 35 cents. That was a sheet of styrene.
  8. received this, a stash of engines for my Background dio. Ford SOHC 427 426 Max wedge 351 Ford race engine 302 Chevy crossram 2010 Camaro 1955 Chrysler Hemi Chevy mid engine with transaxle 1965 Pontiac 389 Allison V12 Now what would a 302 crossram come from? a Z28?
  9. While working on my diorama I found this sticker behind one of the styrene sheets. I haven't been in Hobby Land in probably 40 years and it is likely closed up for 25 years. This brought me back to the countless pleasurable hours spent in there . Every time I went to Ottawa, that is where I headed first. I haven't been in a shop like that since. It was run by hobbyists and you could tell by the organized clutter.
  10. Those of you who saw my thread on the '34 Chevy will remember I used the spare tire fender wells of a 1930 Packard Metal Master kit. Well, its engine has been dechromed and will be the next one in the display.
  11. Tried the paint over foil lettering. Didn't turn out as expected. Maybe they're too small or maybe I rubbed too hard. In any case it'll be the PE letters using the marker hole locating method outlined by Marcos Cruz in my PE lettering thread. Tried several rattle cans since my airbrush is broken. This looks like it might do.
  12. I have a B61 in mind too. I hope it turns out half as good as yours. Thumbs up!!!!!!!!!
  13. Added a few goodies. Installed the door. Wood frame is stained and drying. Made several pallets. Made a sign with the name of the outfit. Nothing to write home about but having fun. And yes, the TransAm engine will get cleaned up and the seams filled.
  14. At 100K, you'd have to be Loaded or... Have a very tolerant wife.
  15. I know this is off-topic but do any of you guys in St-Louis go to the club where Chuck Berry sings apparently once every few months?
  16. Marcos, what do you use as an "applicator?"
  17. Thanks for the pointers guys. Now for the installation tutorial. I've read about people using "Future" to glue them down. Others use epoxy. My problem will be picking them up and applying them without smearing everything while trying to "disconnect". I guess your pick'er upper has to be less sticky than the glue so it releases once the part has been applied. I can see my blood pressure shooting up on this one. .
  18. Retired pipeline land agent.
  19. I have an order in from yesterday.
  20. Looking good, I'll have to revise my order. Please hold the casters .
  21. You got the wheels spot-on.
  22. Hey Matt. that might work. I can assemble them with jewelry chain. Pat
  23. I was going to suggest that after seeing the email Installing closed would prevent putting tension but it would be manageable I guess.
  24. Tulio, how do you do the scripts? Paint over foil?
  25. I think I am going to start sending my models to Brazil for painting. I'm sure it will be worth the expense. That Ford is incredible!
