  1. It toned it down all right along with the "shine" around the seams. I wonder if the clear will cover all those differences or should I repaint the thing?
  2. There are no words to describe something like this. This is beyond craftsmanship or even art. An absolute pleasure to watch. Now I wonder if he could come here and adjust my 1:1 1934 Chevy to run that smooth?
  3. Looking back on the Marcos Cruz tutorial supplied by Scott, I found where I screwed up. This is my first time with resin and my first time with trying to deepen door opening lines. Marcos says to be careful not to "widen" the lines. Looking at them closely last night while trying to clean them up it is obvious that I got carried away with the scriber. Also perhaps I put too much pressure on it and chipped the material rather than peel it. Also, it think that if you did it "before" the last color coat with a light color like this, it might darken the recess just enough to accentuate the contrast. Chalk one up to experience.
  4. Like your Ferrari. I built one sometime in the past. Wonder where it is. You booth gives me an idea about my sandblast cabinet I'm not using any more.
  5. Did a bit of both.Washed the wash with mineral spirits on a q-tip then ran some red in the grooves to remove some contrast. That should do it. Will know better in the morning.
  6. Did the panel lines with black wash and touched up the engine compartment. Not sure if I'm happy with it. It bled on the upper front of the driver's door. The joint between the headlight pods and the front fenders isn't that prominent in real life. I may touch that up with red paint.
  7. Thanks. I think I found away to make it adjustable.
  8. Most kit tires appear to be 10.00-20. Most rubber/resin repops appear to start at 11.00-22. Does that mean that if I buy Resin wheels I have to buy tires too?
  9. I reread the box, the instructions and all I can see is a reference ta it being Cat powered. However, the fine print a.k.a painting instructions says blue or yellow, so either is feasible.
  10. Thanks Jim. I'll google it and get some photos to build by.
  11. When my wife saw the two little pictures she said "What about the others?", the other being four other collector cars I have owned in the past. So I hung them up too. 1931 Ford Model A, 1940 Packard 110 Touring sedan, 1964 Studebaker GT Hawk and 1947 Olds L78 Fastback sedan.
  12. Is the Cat engine in this kit a 3208?
  13. I've seen a guy pull up into a rest area withy a set of doubles only to dicsover it didn't have another entrance. He had to separate, back them unto the highway shoulder, reconnect and move on. He wasn't a happy camper.
  14. My guess is yes....one trailer at a time.
  15. Thanks Scott. I wetsanded with 1000grit. Managed to go through the sharp raised areas as you said not to do. So I gave it another coat. Got rid of the fuzzies. How do I smooth the bottom of the door shut lines?
  16. Added framed photographs of my two 1:1 cars. Started installing my Shapeways casters to the various stands & dollies.
  17. thanks Walter. The walls are just white 1/8" hardboard, bought like that.
  18. Needed a lift to move all those pallets around.
  19. Right on the heels of the two Fords, another delivery. A nice little fork lift for the dio.
  20. Two N600's from Motor City Resins and some casters from Shapeways. One of the Fords will replace the Louisville cab on the race car hauler and will look like Mr. Shelby's did: URL=http://s1176.photobucket.com/user/landman2/media/Models/b2d41b10-797f-11e4-a97c-19f7196f55f7_Cobra-Transport-9.jpg.html] The other will hopefully become a GMC B-7000 and look like this: (I hope)
  21. This is the first one of a stash I bought on eBay. It is the engine from the Aerovette.
  22. Looks like the "Epic" time on the BMF paid off .Great job!
  23. That has got to be the nicest engines I've ever seen. Beautiful work.
  24. Well, the Packard Super 8 in posting #9 has arrived. It was put on display today. It is a bit "large" being 1:24 so I'll keep it away from the others. Hope you like it.
