If I ever DO get a blue one, I'll prolly paint the top and "spear" Larkspur Blue, as I did on the AMT kit I built about 30 years ago....

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!

A black-on-red Dart with "Kit Kat" foil around the windows? I could swear I bought that at the local toy show in 2017 and "rescued" it a couple years ago.... -
Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....

I've seen the Academy P.38 and it is most definitely NOT the LS P.38, or even a very good copy of it. I've now seen a good number of Academy model airplanes that at first glance seem to be copies or reissues of Monogram or other kits, but turn out not to be at all--they're much inferior. I wish I had that LS M28--I have a real one. It would be cool to have a plastic one to hang on the wall. I do have one of the LS M29s, which I really should dig out and finish one of these days. -
That's one of the most realistic looking models of any kind I've ever seen. Well done and model on!

Very gratifying to see this thread resurrected after nearly two years. I'm glad y'all are enjoying these as much as I did mine. I'd buy that blue one too if I ever happen to run across one. Y'all are going to be SO happy after you trim those tailfin chrome thingies down. I was.

Interesting! Seems to be a '77 Ford Truck color. I was kinda hoping it was something more current/available. Thanks! -
Stuff I Haven't Finished...Yet

I'm seeing several projects here that would be warmly welcomed into the new round of the Bring Out Your Dead build, hint hint. -
Just this week's HL coupon in the Sunday paper for next week's use. But I think I'm gonna give up on HL for the SN Impala and just order one online someplace. (I know you were just trying to change the subject here, and I appreciate that. )

I recently watched a Ricky Gervais comedy concert and both seasons of his very interesting show Afterlife and was amazed by how often he used that word and how routine it seemed to be in England. In the comedy show, he told a story of someone reading him out for using that word saying it offended them, and he said, "In my experience, people who are offended by that word would hear it a lot less often if they would stop BEING [the word]s." The audience roared and so did I!

THANK YOU very much! That is exactly what I need to know. I really appreciate it!

Revell 1/25 289 Cobra--1st look, (I think)

Wasn't offensive. Not "upset." Just pointing it out for those who might be interested. As Sgt. Hulka said.... -

Both covered very well down in the Diecast section. -
I found a good'un for the Funny Car Memes thread up in General, and it seems to have disappeared for no reason I can think of. Did something evil happen while I wasn't looking?

That's why this forum is much bigger than SA's, which used to be very active and vibrant. And I recognize a LOT of names here from the old days over there. I don't miss "over there" at all anymore. -

I did a little research and was unable to find any reference, either word or photo, for any H-41 ever carrying anything like that, much less a couple Hawk missiles. -

Google-image "adams model kit" and you can see a lot of interesting stuff. Lotta military vehicles, but many seem to be in oddball 1/40 scale. Turns out I've actually built an Adams kit--the SAAB J35 jet fighter, but it came in a Lindberg box. -

As long as we're talking about MODEL CAR MOLDS, sure, why not? -

There's already a huge thread on this up in General. There was one started down here, too, the day it was announced, but it disappeared--maybe it was merged into the other one. -

A couple of them reappeared in Lindberg boxes a few years ago at Ollie's. Pirate flintlocks, or something of the kind. Pyro only ever did a couple of those guns of any interest whatever to me. One was a Colt Single Action Army. I actually have one, half-built. Should dig it out and finish it. I think they also did some kind of Winchester lever-action rifle. I'd like to have one of those. There was a company named LS in Japan that did a lovely line of 1:1 scale model guns in the early '70s. I think the last time I saw them was in the late '80s. They were always pretty expensive. I have one of their Walther P.38s. -
The grille looks better than AMT's. I've painted at least five of the latter now and have never really been happy with any of them.

Encouraged by your score, I went to my HL today. No joy. They seem to have restocked on cars, as there were only two "holes" on the shelf. I checked the labels on both holes and neither seemed to have anything to do with the SN '67 Impala. Ended up buying another can of Model Master Nassau Blue paint while I could still get it just so the whole trip wasn't a complete waste of time and gas.
