  1. Wow, great color, great finish, great sit and stance--what's not to like? VERY well done and model on!
  2. It's perfectly okay to run your own WIP thread on a project even if you're in a BOYD build. Several of us do; others don't. Drive on!
  3. No hard time intended, old friend. I apologize if you took it that way.
  4. And how many '66-67 Novas have JJ and his people wrecked? Heifer and Zip Tie have both been wrecked at least once each, and Doughboy destroyed another one before he got the '62 (which is about when I started watching).
  5. I just recalled that someone on the board was looking for a Boss Nova drag wagon kit not too long ago. As soon as I have the stock Craftsman kit in hand, I'll have one available for trade.
  6. Then the question is moot.
  7. The rule is, you have to have started it over a year ago (the longer ago, the better), and NOT worked on it steadily during the last year (again, the longer since you've worked on it, the better, preferably at least several months). Anything in your pics that qualifies to that is fine. 1/32 is fine. The idea is to get a stalled project off the Shelf of Doom, or parole it from Styrene Jail.
  8. OMG! That looks like what I'd expect JJ to drive to a pimp's kid's birthday party!
  9. No, they didn't. Different all three years.
  10. The rear deck script is the same between '63 and '65, and I believe the FI fender emblems are too, if you're using them. Only exterior emblem differences would be the nose flag emblem, and the gas filler cap. And of course the rocker panel trim is different for all five years of the C2.
  11. I believe I've only seen it beat twice: Once when JJ forgot to turn on his nitrous, and once when he left the "big tire" tune in it on small tires. Good sport JJ admitted his own mistake both times and paid up cheerfully.
  12. Agreed on all counts. That blue '69 Camaro had me worried a bit, too.
  13. Last night I thought I heard JJ call Chelsea's '66 Chevelle "Bobcat," so I rewound and that's what he said. And then he called it "Bobcat" twice more and I'm starting to think I've been mis-hearing it as Tomcat for weeks. And then later in the show he called it Tomcat again. Last night's show was a nail-biter up to almost the end. Good episode! OTOH, I'm not enjoying the Race Night in America show nearly as much. They hop around too much and introduce (and then forget about) too many new people. And way too much arguing. The show's actually hard to watch. More JJ, please, and also please bring back the 405 crew.
  14. I haven't seen that one, but M2 has a nice Fairlady Z that seems to be in scale.
  15. Great! I should be getting mine around the first of August, then.
  16. Vamach1 and Superbird, gotcha down on the list. That makes nine participants, so, GAME ON! Looks like this might be a good round! GITTER DONE!
  17. Looks like you mounted the front axle under the frame, instead of ahead of it, for some reason. Biggest problem with that body is the WAY too short hood. So here's what I'm doing with one, which does away with the hood:
  18. Me neither, but Micro Metal Foil (a wonderful product!) WILL bead on it. Just passing the ScotchBrite trick along.
  19. Body swap? I see this one still has windshield molding brace on it. And what's the gold thing on the seat in the glue bomb picture? Looks kinda like a piece of .32 or .380 ACP brass.
  20. I think you're right about the paint being Pactra. Testor never had a color like that and it's just a hair greener and much shinier than AMT Blue Fog Metallic. The only flaw in the paint is a run/metallic blotch right at the very rear of the left hand side, but it's not horrible--I think anything I could try to fix it would only screw it up more, so I'm leaving it alone. It is what it is--a true old-school survivor! BTW, you need to thank me for the nice price you got for that Mustang lot you sold on eBay a month or so ago. It was sitting there at half its final selling price one minute out and I put in a very healthy bid (about what I paid for this one, IIRC) and was winning and then someone beat me in the last few seconds. So, you're welcome!
  21. Whichever side of the foil in on the "inside" has to be scuffed or adhesive will bead up on it. I scuff it with a ScotchBrite pad. Doesn't take long and solves the problem. 0000 steel wool will work, too, but it's hard to clean off all the tiny "shavings" from it. The ScotchBrite is better.
  22. Tim, you're in! What's the paint on that Mustang? I've been looking for that exact color for a '69! Misha and Oldscool, I've got you down too. Unless I've missed someone, that makes 7. We need one more. I appreciate you participating-all of you. Y'all give me motivation to GITTER DONE too, and I now have 8 or 9 finished that wouldn't be without you! Here's who's on so far: ROUND 8 : FINISH DATE SEPTEMBER 30, 2020 Tom Geiger: Jeepster Disconovaman: '65 Mustang convertible Spottedlaurel: '65 Corvette Straightliner59: Peterbilt truck Misha: Tall T coupe TimJ: '99 Mustang Cobra Oldscool: '66 Impala
  23. Mom! What were you doing at George Bojaciuk's house?
  24. I'm amazed it's not painted purple. Or purple with lime green graphics.
