  1. Firstly, congratulations on having your Western Star and Ford Aeromax models featured in the Italeri model gallery. You are at least the second modeler from this board to have their truck models on the Italeri web site. Yes, there are several excellent books on North American truck brands. One of the best is the Crestline series of books from the publisher Motorbooks International. They are, Ford Trucks Since 1905, International Trucks and Dodge Trucks. The are in black and white, but they chronicle virtually every model and model year of tractor these manufactures every made! Each book has over 300 pages and at least twice that many photographs. They were originally released in the mid 1990s and to my knowledge, they are out of print, but can be found from sources if you search the Internets. I highly recommend them as references for any truck enthusiast.
  2. The key to a smudge free surface is to use gloves.
  3. Excellent work. Your imagination never ceases to amazes me. But I hope the post office continues to buy American.
  4. Great start. I would have to agree that the Ertl Great Dane reefer has to rank in the top three of 1/25th scale kits. I was lucky enough to acquire two original sealed kits, plus a whole lot of complete, unassembled truck kits from a guy in Indianapolis in the late 1990s for ###### near nothin'. My plan is to make a day cab, mid 1970s ish Cruise Liner supermarket rig.
  5. I will strip the next one and paint the entire trailer Alclad Brushed Aluminum.
  6. You just worry about staying alive! The models (all kinds) will be here when you return.
  7. You should rip that CD and upload it on a file site so we all can view it. The actually prototype looks more polished aluminum than reflective chrome. I built that kit when it first came out and I have another one on the shelf, unopened.
  8. Dave, I'm by no means a builder of 1950s muscle type cars, but I am diggin' the Hudson Hornet and Chrysler 300C mock ups. I tell ya, if Moebius keeps turning out quality kits of subjects such as these, they may be in it for the long haul, so to speak!
  9. Beall I would suggest that Mobius do a pneumatic trailer, but they need to do an accurate reefer first.
  10. Nope, brand new tooling from a model company!
  11. It would be nice to have a North American styled unit, but the proposed Euro unit would be welcomed.
  12. Hey Dave, ever attempt a NYCFD Super Pumper?
  13. Yea, you need to consulate Ahlborn about this. I'm looking on his web site and he scratch built one. He is one of the moderators on this board. I'm sure he will be chimming in about this soon enough. http://timstrucks.site.aplus.net/timpbcoe.htm
  14. I see you have made liberal use of Hobbytown tread plate. Try the KFS slam locks. They are photo etched.
  15. I'm not knowledgeable of fire apparatus. What cab is that?
  16. Nope. I'm pretty sure no one offered a Pete 320 resin cab. The closest would have been Model Truck and Fire Apparatus, which is now American Industrial Truck Models. They offered Mack M, MR and CCC Centurion resin cabs. AITM has not reissued those cabs since it was bought out from the previous owner. I would suggest you contact AITM and suggest they reissue those cabs. http://www.aitruckmodels.com/

  23. Tim, you come up with the darnist information! Where in the heck did you find that Peterbilt ad? Have you come across any 1950 to early 1970 Revell catalogers?
