Yea your right.Like I said, there were so many HIGH priced $$ Broncos,Blazers, and Corvette resto mods,I could throw up?.And as someone said, all the Eleanor Mustangs too.? -
Wow that’s amazing, that was just last week.I mean she looks great. That really sucks that she died so suddenly.I picked up these A/G movie posters at a swap meet over the summer.

Yea i saw that. Not a big fan of the Allante, but there were a lot of nice cars that were sold yesterday.I’m not really sure why yesterdays final day of the auction, was not televised.Instead, you could only see the coverage via Live stream on line..I might try to get down to Florida in April for the next auction in Palm Beach.Who knows maybe I can find a nice ride that won’t break the bank.$$.?♂️ -
Yea just saw that on line.Sad that she passed away. She was hilarious on Laverne And Shirley. As well as starring in American Graffiti, and the sequel,More American Graffiti.RIP?.

Yup,IMO,Rick Dobbertin is the father of Pro street. He built a very nice 65 Nova along with others. But I believe it was Scott Sullivan that built what many considered the first “pro street” car,a 66,or 67 Nova, can’t recall, way back all the way in 1979,where it is was featured in Hot Rod,i believe,& Car Craft.

Well I have to say that I totally agree with what some of you guys are saying. There definitely were way too many resto-mod Corvettes, pick up trucks,Broncos,Blazers, and very high dollar exotics at the auction.I mean I couldn’t believe how many Broncos, Blazers, and pick ups there were at the auction..And yes, there were way way too many commercials,or cut aways to one of the commentators looking, and talking about some car in the staging lanes. That was quite irritating..But again,as I said,I really tried not to pay too much attention to the prices of the cars. And just tried to enjoy seeing the different cars coming across the block.I just wish there were more of the number matching American Muscle cars. The Boss 429s,Superbirds,the Road Runners,Chevelles,Hemis,etc..And your right Mike,I couldn’t agree with you more, the girls writing the sold price decals on the cars, was actually one of my favorite parts of the auction.Very easy on the eyes.??.Oh and this was the highest priced car at the auction. An 89 Ferrari F40,which sold for about $2.5 million.I just don’t understand what was up with the color of the car.? -
No I’m just joking.Duel was a great movie, and the ending was well executed. No explosion was necessary.

Welp the long week auction is now in the history books.Just incredible cars to see and drool over. The highest paid car was an 89 Ferrari F40,which sold for $2.5 million. It was tuned to over 1,000 Hp.Except that it was painted,or wrapped in some really ugly gray color. But as I said,it was a really good auction. -
Wait, are you serious?Spielberg thought that a huge explosion would be too cliche?Mr.Stephen Spielberg actually said that?Mr.special FX,explosion man, himself said that? That is really funny.?
-
Thank you very much.

Anybody been catching the coverage of Barrett Jackson collectible auto auction from Scottsdale AZ this past week?Good Lord there were some nice cars this year. And I can’t get over the amount of pick ups,Blazers, and Broncos,(old and new) that were at the auction. Some of them were fetching a huge sum of $$.Today is the last day of the auction, and this is when they bring out the best they have to offer..However there was one particular car that sold earlier this week that I still couldn’t believe what it sold for.It was a very low milage, show room condition 81 Z28 Camaro that sold for around $98K.?♂️That has to be a world record.I mean yea it was a really nice car,but come on $98K?Some of these guys just have way too much money burning a hole in their pockets. And I know a lot of folks don’t really like watching Barrett Jackson,or even Mecum, because the prices of some of the cars are so high. And while I agree 110%,I just really watch it simply to see all the different cars.?.

Yup I heard about this yesterday. And as Slusher said,I agree, the guy needs to slow down a bit.And yea it really sucks that his show (Jay Leno’s Garage),is ending.I’ve always been a huge fan of his, ever since he took over the Tonight Show back in the early 90s.IMO he was the best host of that show.I mean I just always thought the guy was hilarious, and have always admired his love, and knowledge of anything to do with his passion of all things,(cars).I hope he recovers well, and then maybe think about taking a vacation or something.

Thanks, yea I agree it’s all in the details.I have a couple of houses and other buildings already built from another diorama scene that i need to fix up a bit,and put them together with this house.I find it easiest to use HO scale buildings,etc..Like I said , these are some buildings i used in the past. And I have others as well.It also helps when you take the photos from the right angle to make them look as realistic as much. But thanks again, and I’ll keep you posted.
-
So i have a few houses,(HO scale),thought I would do another diorama. This is the first house being worked on.(pre built)
-
Wow,great job,I really like how you used the paint brush to make the tall grass,as well as using the pencils to make the parking space bump stops.Never would have thought to do that.Anyway again,it looks great.??
-
Just finished my first diorama! Asbury, NJ streets!
NYLIBUD replied to GlueSniffer's topic in Dioramas
Wow,that is so realistic..I mean first off the car is incredible, but then you add the street, sidewalk, and especially the poles on either side of the buildings gas meter, and I would swear that it was all real.Great job. -
Another legend gone..RIP?
-
The New phone book is here, the new phone book is here.Page 73,Navin R Johnson.Lol?..I gotta say,I haven’t seen a phone book in a long time.
-
Great job..I actually started to get into drag racing because of Bob Glidden. Definitely one of my favorite drivers.I remember meeting him a while back at E-Town.Such a nice guy.Too bad we lost him a couple of years ago.A true champion.?
-
Excellent job.Great movie too.
-
Wow,really great job.Haven’t seen one of these built so well before. The wheels look great,as well as the decals.I also also like how you have the side window down half way on the drivers side.
-
This is such a great diorama.IMO,American Graffiti is one of the best films of all time. It’s amazing how young all those superstars were in that film.Again, just incredible.I love the police car coming apart. That was one of the best scenes in the movie.I always crack up ?during that part whenever I watch that movie.”Ok Toad,we’ll take ‘em all on.”??
-
Wow,very cool
-
Wow,I haven’t been checking things out in this section for awhile.I’ve got to say, this dio is wild.So much detail.?
