  1. I am slowly assembling a collection of 1/87 pre-1970 B&Ws. The Buick arrived today to join the other 3. Strictly speaking, if I want to have one on my North Michigan layout, it has to be the Mercury as it is just labelled as Police, whereas the others have specific force logos. Even the Merc is tenuous, as Michigan police cars were a darkish blue in my period, late 1950s. I’m looking for a 1957 Fairlane in 1/87 for better accuracy on the layout. Thanks for looking. steve

  7. Now that is a very fine automobile. To me, the early Barracudas are the nicest looking. steve
  8. Is it a 1958 Chevrolet in there somewhere? Thanks steve
  9. I saw this on the road, as I was sat in it as a passenger hurtling round the local tarmac at incredible speeds! Blimey it’s fast and sticks to the road like the proverbial to a blanket. Roger, my mate and the owner, also has a sprint racer Caterham and has threatened me with a trip round a track in that. I have wanted a 7 since I was 10 years old but never had the means or space to own one. This was my first trip in one. steve
  10. Who had the idea of chopping down tops first? (Like so many 3 & 5 window coupes get.) I'm guessing the idea surfaced post WWII, maybe connected to salt flat racing? Anyone cure my curiosity? Thanks steve
  11. Love that Saab. I had a 900SE 5 door and it handled really well. steve
  12. These are quite common over here in the U.K. steve
  13. Was the real thing actually driveable/driven at all? Thanks steve
  14. That would explain it! ? Thanks steve
  15. I built 3 of those Monogram models over 30 years but never saw the rail. steve
  16. A 1/87 scale mini diorama I made a few years ago. steve
  17. Thanks for all your help chaps. We are going through the stash and sorting them next before we move 'em on. steve
  18. I'm sure most of you have encountered this scenario before. A friend who is often approached to help dispose of model railway collections, has been asked to help by a modeller's widow to shift a collection that contains both. The railway side isn't a problem and the unbuilt kits, cars and aircraft mainly, can go at a swap meet. Where we need help is with the builtups, cars and planes. Is there any sort of market for these? There's loads of them, the attached images give an idea. Any help gratefully received! Thanks steve
  19. I really liked those 1/32 Lindberg hot rod kits. I built several back in the day. Pity they are no longer around, except as ‘collectibles’. steve
  20. Interesting contrast of sizes! steve
