  1. Who had the idea of chopping down tops first? (Like so many 3 & 5 window coupes get.) I'm guessing the idea surfaced post WWII, maybe connected to salt flat racing? Anyone cure my curiosity? Thanks steve
  2. Love that Saab. I had a 900SE 5 door and it handled really well. steve
  3. These are quite common over here in the U.K. steve
  4. Was the real thing actually driveable/driven at all? Thanks steve
  5. That would explain it! ? Thanks steve
  6. I built 3 of those Monogram models over 30 years but never saw the rail. steve
  7. A 1/87 scale mini diorama I made a few years ago. steve
  8. Thanks for all your help chaps. We are going through the stash and sorting them next before we move 'em on. steve
  9. I'm sure most of you have encountered this scenario before. A friend who is often approached to help dispose of model railway collections, has been asked to help by a modeller's widow to shift a collection that contains both. The railway side isn't a problem and the unbuilt kits, cars and aircraft mainly, can go at a swap meet. Where we need help is with the builtups, cars and planes. Is there any sort of market for these? There's loads of them, the attached images give an idea. Any help gratefully received! Thanks steve
  10. I really liked those 1/32 Lindberg hot rod kits. I built several back in the day. Pity they are no longer around, except as ‘collectibles’. steve
  11. Interesting contrast of sizes! steve
  12. Nicest version of the modern Fiat 500 I’ve seen. steve
  13. I'm surprised this isn't legal to drive on the road, as stated earlier. Given some of the weird and wonderful vehicles that do seem to be legal, going on images displayed here, why not the Turnpike Cruiser? Thanks steve
  14. This picture was sent to me by a friend. Anyone recognise it? steve
  15. Not quite on the road. At a local shopping park yesterday. steve
  16. The colour I can't abide is silver metallic. To me, it makes the vehicle look cheap somehow. A real metallic steel grey is fine and looks classy when done right. steve
  17. I assume the word 'taste' is missing from the builder's dictionary... steve
  18. Sometimes life just gets too much… steve
  19. Sorry for your loss. I’ve been there and know how you feel. steve
  20. Wish I could have been there. Love the Island and Deuces! steve
