  1. Well, it is safer than tap dancing on moving helicopter rotor blades or roof surfing on a subway car.
  2. Good analogy. It does require patience, something most kids today lack. They have shorter attention spans than goldfish..
  3. It was a modeling site.
  4. Really nice. A true land yacht.
  5. I've seen people in bars getting darts stuck in different body parts, thrown by someone with really bad aim, drunk or both. Get rid of the bum with the bad aim, not the dartboard.
  6. David Snow was responsible for getting them banned. The F-16 Fighting Falcon was nicknamed the "lawn dart" due to its tendency to plunge back to Earth when its single engine flamed out.
  7. It's an easy game to play. Pick up a stick without moving the surrounding sticks. If you do, you lose a turn. The sticks can be assigned point values according to color. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins. Or, whoever has the most sticks. How to play Pick Up Sticks They're still available from $1.99 to $4.99, depending on where you buy them. They're usually made from wood or bamboo, which makes them perfect shishkebab skewers in a pinch.
  8. Boy, those days when the legal drunking age in NY was 18 were sure fun. I was 18 since I was 14. Care to shotgun a coke?
  9. Only if free shipping was included. That extra four bucks can come in handy for more worthless trash.
  10. I used to live in Lenny's Clam Bar. New Park Pizza and Don Peppe on Lefferts were both a close second.
  11. From what I just found, the cigarettes consist of a celluloid rod wrapped in tissue paper: Smoking Monkey Cigarettes
  12. 40 for $10? Heck. that's pretty good. Depending on where you buy them here, a pack of smokes costs $14. The "cigarettes" are tightly rolled paper. A monkey "toothpick joint", if you will.
  13. Police Car Models makes nice light bars; unfortunately, they don't make rotators. The ambulance has two Federal Signal 17 Beacon Ray rotators and a Pulsator siren Custom Squads makes both.
  14. She's been on a downhill slope looks-wise since the 1990s she's just one of those people who didn't age well. She's only four years older than Dawn Wells.
  15. Just read the news at Missing Lynx. Stefan de Meyer, author of "Duel in the Mist", which is about Kampfgruppe Peiper during the Ardennes Offensive, has passed away. Stephan was known for his collection of war photos spanning the entire 20th century. He was just about to reopen his "War Through The Lens" website soon. He waill be truly missed.
  16. http://www.customsquads.com/ (The blasted "Link" function is verkakte!!!!) makes the best in the market. All you'll need to do is coat the inner part of the dome with some clear red acrylic and you're good to go.
  17. Max Factor wasn't one of them.
  18. Hands down, hotter than Ginger. Especially today: There aren't enough bags in the known universe to put over Tina Louise's head.
  19. Gilligan was a proto-hipster. As Maynard G. Krebs he pioneered the unwashed, bedbug-incubating dirty clothes and greasy, unkempt, lice-infested bed hair look favored by countless toilet paper tube necked, pipe cleaner armed, Dinty Moore lumberjack shirt wearing Q-Tip physiqued geeks named Quaid, Zach and Montague. Skipper was just a fat slob.
  20. Ah, you know how women are. They always overpack. Ever see the cra p they stuff in their shoulder bags?
  21. The Minnow went out for a three hour cruise and there was more stuff on that boat than you can store on an aircraft carrier.
  22. On this side of the Atlantic, beefsteak banquets were popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They've held beefsteaks in Brooklyn at the Bell House, in Gowanus, for the past couple of years. I've attended three and it's a blast! More meat than you can shake an iceberg at.
  23. Jim, do you know Joe Bakanovic, the proprietor of Tiger Model Designs? He's located in Lynn Haven. Joe is a standup guy who treats his customers well and his casting work like a business because it is. Joe maintains a minimum stock on large items and usually casts to order. Those are sent out within the week. He never makes excuses and will contact you if there will be a delay. You can't ask for more than that.
