  1. Car modeling, compared to armor/aircraft/sci-fi, is a niche catering to a comparatively small segment of the hobby. Unlike a company releasing every single variant of, let's say, a Pz III Ausf. M (including versions built at a specific time on a specific work shift at the Daimler Benz plant), you ain't gonna see that kind of commitment from the likes of Round2RevellWhatever.
  2. How old are the kits? Look on the bottom of the box to check.
  3. The '59 Caddy would still have the incorrect rear suspension configuration. The trailing arms need to be oriented toward the center of the chassis with the mounts attached to the frame rails, like the ones on the '66 Riviera. It won't be a walk through the park to slice and dice your way to an accurate chassis using parts and sections from multiple vict...donor kits. .
  4. Get one of these, a Wicked Lasers Spyder III Arctic. It'll slice right through those printer supports, and a lot of other things, like a hot knife through butter.
  5. Those PBA cards always come in handy in situations like that.
  6. What's not to like about it? My friend's older brother had one in the same color back in '73. I give it ??? just because I'm that kind of guy.
  7. The whooppee cushion by itself justifies buying that kit.
  8. That's a beaut, Rich. I checked out his FB page and he has a lot of nice stuff I need to hand over cash for.
  9. Not really. It wouldn't have the correct front and rear suspension and fuel tank. Revellogram '59 Caddy '62 Electra rear suspension '62 Electra fuel tank The fairly recent AMT/ERTL '66 Riviera (30083 or 31849) would be a better starting point since the front suspension is identical to the Electra's. The section within the red box couldn't be used because the fuel tank is incorrect for a '62 and the rear frame rails on the '62 Electra are parallel, not angled outward. The AMT/ERTL '62 Impala/Bel Air kit chassis are pretty close to the configuration of the Electra, with the exception of the front suspension and wheelbase. The '66 Riviera front suspension can be grafted onto the Impala/Bel Air chassis plate with adjustments made to increase the wheelbase to a scale 126". If you are really serious about creating an accurate and correctly detailed representation of the '62 Electra chassis, this would entail a lot of reconstructive surgery on your part; but, the result would be worth the effort.
  10. The 225 front suspension is also similar to '61-68 Cadillacs '62 Electra '68 Deville
  11. The Electra 225 used the C-body platform which had a 126" wheelbase. The Impala/Biscayne/Bel Air used the B-body platform which had a 119" wheelbase.
  12. Thanks for the tip. Plenty o'bike lanes here.
  13. That engine is great looking. I never saw that on Joel's ebay page. FB only?
  14. Liz better develop a taste for blue Kool-Aid and green baloney sandwiches when she registers at the Graybar Hotel.
  15. I hate stores that move. It makes it difficult to enter and exit the joint. There were two stationery stores in the neighborhood which sold model kits when I was a kid. There was Ted's Stationery (closed in 1974), which had a great selection of kits. I bought my first Johan Turbine Car there for a buck and change. The other was Jam's Stationery, which recently closed. That was my go-to place to buy MAD paperbacks. The model section was located in the rear of the store and, like Ted's, always had a large selection. I bought plenty of Aurora models plus Hawk and early Hasegawa aircraft kits. The guy who was store manager looked like David McCallum's character in the Outer Limits episode "The Sixth Finger" if he wore Clark Kent specs.
  16. It's just a matter of time before their parents will evict them from their respective basements. The gray suit and 1970s-era Telly Savalas-style giant knot necktie that the toilet brush-headed loser on the right is wearing looks like what you'd receive upon release from the Mattewan State Hospital for the Criminally Insane.
  17. Both nice pickups, Rich. Those Cutlasses are going for some big bucks on ebay lately. I saw a couple unbuilt '69 AMX Super Stock kits for ± 60 bucks. Got this from BNA Model World. Ordered on Feb. 27th and it arrived yesterday. Some stuff I ordered on Feb. 25th from Michigan is still "in transit to the destination". ? Them Borranis sure look swell. Now, to find decent replacement tires. Those Dunlop tractor tires included in the Protar/RoG kits suck big time.
  18. Interesting, Definitely food for thought.
  19. The problem with those hair bands is the rubber in the center. As it ages, the rubber/elastic deteriorates (read melts), becoming a sticky mess. I had to deal with that situation after using them for hoses in the engine compartment of a 1/16 King Tiger. The c-rap is almost impossible to remove.
  20. I'll second that. Very interesting with numerous applications possible.
