  1. Premier Lincoln Futura
  2. That's Sfan. Large "S", small "F", small "A", small "N". Sfan.
  3. Not very different than working with styrene parts.
  4. Too bad you don't have all of the customizing parts.
  5. Actor-comedian Orson Bean, 91, hit and killed by car in LA
  6. Stupid is the new smart in marketing strategy. Say, that reminds me of a thread.....
  7. Why? Neither of those are available in canned form. Testors still produces Metalizer Lacquer Paints, just not in spray cans anymore.
  8. Looks like a really bad Lincoln Futura from the 1950s. Is there any manufacturer's data stamped on the underside of the body?
  9. Don't hold your breath waiting for restocks at your favorite store. With the exception of 1451 Aluminum Plate Buffing Metalizer, "they" have discontinued Metalizer in spray cans. You'll still be able to by the other shades in bottle form, which are still in the lineup.
  10. He's looking for styrene kits, which severely limits his options.
  11. Aside from the AMT '55, Revellogram '56 and 1/24 scale '57 Nomads, you're S.O.L. for plastic.
  12. MPC 205-249 was a 9 in 1 kit, 7 stock and 2 rods.
  13. I don't use paperclips.
  14. Let me work on this. I will let you know what I come up with. I think I have a solution for the rear arm.
  15. Don't give up. You are admitting to being a mere carbon based mortal. Otherwise, I will be forced into removing your graven image from my pantheon of modeling heroes. Seriously though, if you can send me a clear image and dimensions of the particular areas of the kit for reference, I could work on some hinges made from thin gauge brass components.
  16. Your method for fabricating working hood hinges is similar to what txfatboy posted on Page 8 in the "Making Door & Hood Hinges" thread: Using PE 2 as a template, make a copy of PE 1 from .016" brass sheet. That there Dremel Micro was made for stuff like this. If you don't have them, diamond cutting wheels are are excellent accessories to have around when you need to fabricate small metal parts. Perfect for smooth cuts and adding details like that "V" cut.
  17. Get Weld-On 3. I use it to bond polystyrene to ABS, acrylics and each other and encountered no issues in terms of joint strength. Unlike CA or epoxies, it forms a permanent bond by fusing the parts. A 1/2 pint container costs less than 17 bucks. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:_WELD-ON 3* is a water-thin, non-flammable cement formulated to quickly develop high strength, clear bonds to many thermoplastic substrates, particularly acrylic. The bond is achieved by first softening the surfaces to be joined and then fusing them together with dissipation of the solvent. The initial bond forms within a few minutes and quickly increases in strength.Substantial strength will be obtained within only a few hours.
  18. Reread that thread. Resin warpage isn't a common occurrence. As Bill Engwer pointed out, defective resin products are a result of improper and inconsistent mixing ratios and/or substandard materials. MCW, and other highly reputable casters, use only the best available material and follow strict manufacturing procedures to ensure the highest quality products.
  19. Spilling Richards Wild Irish Rose on a car can burn through the paint to the sheet metal and cause oxidation. Don't ask me how I know, That looks entirely salvageable, though.
  20. I know my cat is eternally grateful to Edmund Lowe. Possessing the wherewithal (and a true passion and interest in this segment of the hobby industry) to acquire these companies, ready to get things going from the start and invest in rehabilitating molds to release as many classic kits which modelers have been jonesing for years is preferable to a guy/group with no working capital to invest into existing assets and will operate on the proverbial shoestring budget, essentially guaranteeing that one, if not more, divisions will get shortchanged in the long run. Granted, the Sci-fi portion of Round2's seems to get priority in developing new kits; but, that's where the money is. It'd be stupid business practice not to go with the dough.
  21. He's out to bring Big Bird to justice for murdering his cousin, Staten Island Charlotte in 2014.
  22. I believe that it was the title of the third Mad Max film, "Beyond The Palindrome". Robert Trebor was supposed to have a bit part in it.
  23. The lower front part of the AMT fender looks too short when compared to the real car, making it look chopped. The front bumper is also too short in profile because of this. The face of rear bumper appears more convex than that of either the real car or diecast, making it look shorter top to bottom. It should be flatter with a more rhomboid-like appearance, slightly tapering toward its lower edge. The kit's beltline seems to have a more pronounced dip front-to-rear.
  24. The angry groundhog clique is grumbling about illegal seasonal appropriation. They demand a do-over.
