  1. A good beer. It was brewed in my neighborhood.
  2. Don't bet on that. Quirky new takes on the classic ________ (fill in the blank with whatever comes to mind) is a specialty of Mr. Salty-physiqued, pipe cleaner-limbed, bearded bed bug incubators. I've seen some really atrocious automotive horrors, which used to be nice looking classic 50s-60s classics, turned into motorized macaroni art projects and the like around here. I could see them turning this into a rolling latte foam machine.
  3. Bada-bing, Bada-boom! Both Steve and Jonathan are on target.
  4. Work through all of them. Pretend you're hitting the hot buffet table at the Killarney Rose and have three or four of each. If necessary, go through the line a couple times. Old stock only.
  5. The faux-hemian retro-geeks garbed in 19th century newsboy clothing and riding Penny Farthings has happened; so, nothing is off the table.
  6. That would depend on your personal tastes and playlists.
  7. The supply is drying up; so, there are less and less '50s cars to go around. Sorta like life-size equivalents of Johan kits.
  8. That short was titled "Three Little Pigskins".
  9. Aw, forghedaboudit and get a case of corona
  10. Nice pick up. You're lucky. I have one molded in banana yellow.
  11. Interest in Brass-era cars goes hand-in-hand with millennials' penchant for dressing up like Snipes, the lovable sociopathic 19th century newsboy, and riding Penny Farthings in Prospect Park.
  12. You ain't kidding, Pete. Been there, done that. Supply and demand dictates that you're going to pay out the wazoo for that "one kit that you always wanted to build"; especially when that "one kit" is rarer than the steak at Peter Luger's.
  13. When people panic shop, there is no logical correlation between the cause and what is purchased. People hoard extraneous items just because. There's probably going to be a run on Makita Cordless Reciprocating Saws at Home Depot and Lowe's after all the lobster ravioli at Whole Foods is stripped off the shelves.
  14. "Smell" is subjective. Some people feel that Blue Silton and Limburger cheeses stink to high heaven. Others don't mind their respective aromas. Like with the cheeses, proper ventilation is also recommended when using solvent-based paints.
  15. Spot on. There isn't any of the hyperbole and histrionics on the local news here compared to what is presented by the talking heads on the national and cable outlets.
  16. The Archdiocese of New York announced that elementary schools in Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island will be closed through March 20th; no announcement from the Diocese of Brooklyn, covering Brooklyn and Queens. Also no word about NYC public schools; although, one school in the Bronx will be shut down for one day for decon after a confirmed case was detected.
  17. Fear-driven hysteria is the new normal. It keeps cable news program ratings up. I sneezed on my screen. Hopefully, everyone ducked.
  18. In a nutshell, nope.
  19. Via ouija board, George said that's his original design and can prove it. He's filing a lawsuit, retaining the services of the esteemed law firm of Howe and Hummel.
  20. Not when it pertains to display models such as the ship kits from Artesania Latina, etc. These models were not designed to be actually sailed in your bathtub or local pond. The first layer of basswod planking is to establish the hull lines. The second layer, usually narrower walnut or tanganyika strips are applied as a finishing layer; and, depending on the vessel, green colored rectangular wood pieces are applied as the second layer , from the waterline to keel, to simulate copper sheathing plates. My Mamoli 1/93 U.S.S. Constitution is a double plank on frame model.
  21. Thanks for taking the time to post it. Looks good considering it's a test print.
  22. Interesting. Any chance that you could post a couple photos of the test prints?
