  1. This is a photo (taken yesterday by the N.Y. Daily News) of the fun, frolicking and highjinks taking place at McCarren Park, located in my ancestral neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Aside from the now-cancelled Spring Break activities in Florida, this has to be one of the larger mass groupings of Darwin Award candidates.

  3. If you have a combination scribing tool/scraper, lightly scrape along and perpendicular to/on the mold lines to remove them: and, if you have multi-grit sanding sticks, use the medium, fine and extra fine sticks to lightly polish the areas out. Bada-bing, bada-boom, mold lines in ABS gone.
  4. There isn't any 'resin '72 Dart 4 Dr Sedan available. For future reference, you can check the resin model cars and trucks database from Rocketfin. It's pretty comprehensive and an excellent resource.
  5. There are no issues or problems sanding ABS. Medium-fine grit wet/dry paper is sufficient. As with polystyrene, exercise care not to overdo it.
  6. That is cool! It was made by Masudaya in '85-'86. Take care of it. These are worth some bug bucks.
  7. On Sunday, October 20,1985, an earthquake centered in Ardsley, N.Y. hit at a little past 6 A.M. It was felt in NYC, including Brooklyn. How did I find out? The hung wall case directly over the head of my bed fell and smacked me dead in the kisser. I wasn't really a big deal. I had to get up and get ready for work anyway.
  8. Darby Conley's drawing style looks suspiciously similar to Berkley Breathed's (Bloom County).
  9. Fmeep His favorite gag is to spray whipped cream in his mouth and scare the hell out of the neighborhood kids by pretending he's rabid.
  10. Many a boomer owe their very existence to a double feature at the drive in.
  11. Might be enrolled in the Witness Protection Program.
  12. Would a Dodge Flathead Six be called Demi-Semi-Hemi?
  13. J&J Randall is deader than the proverbial doornail and is defunct. It was bought by Letraset in 1978 which, in turn, was acquired by Colart. Letraset then became part of Windsor and Newton and is equally extinct.
  14. Are you talking about the one in August 2011? The apartment complex where we lived in Downtown Brooklyn is built right over the Hoyt-Schermerhorn subway station on vibration pads to mitigate shaking from the train traffic below street level. My son was on his computer in his bedroom, I was in the living room and Fmeep the Cat was snoozing on top of the a/c wall sleeve when I felt the apartment rocking. My son and I looked out the living room window and saw that the friggin' view was moving from side to side. I thought it was because of the subway trains running through the station until we saw the sign on the deli across the street fall off the wall and people started flooding out into the street. Junior and I thought it was pretty cool. Fmeep continued snoozing.
  15. Soak the parts in Clorox. The chrome will dissolve in a matter of minutes. Rinse, prime and paint away.
  16. 1/24 armor? Do you have the old Bandai 1/24 KT and JP kits?
  17. Hmmmm....... I'll trade you my Hasegawa MB for that old, rust-prone Ford. Consider it a magnanimous gesture on my part.
  18. Probably would spark a run on Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Advanced Insoles. Everybody knows that bargain shoppers are nuts about sales. They'll buy rubber dog poop by the case if it's listed at 30% off.
  19. It's good to keep an eye open for those apocalypse clearance sales. Might be a lot of bargains if you know where to look.
  20. You know, we're reacting to this question the wrong way. We should leave it to the professional market analysts to determine the future viability of "The Hobby".
  21. HERE it is.
  22. I have Italeri 6351, a 2010 rebox, in the stash. It's alright; but not as good, detail-wise, as the Hasegawa. Just my opinion; and, you know what they say about those.
  23. We'll be out of business before the industry is.
  24. Couple of things I picked up. Dziękuję Ci bardzo, Chris. Johan 1967 Ambassador and 1965 Rambler promos An SMP 1960 Valiant AMT 1961 and 1962 Mercury Comets Also grabbed this Hasegawa 1/24 Willys MB because it's such a great kit. Light years ahead of the similar Italeri version.
