  1. And we thought this was plug ugly.........
  2. The "bulletproof" glass shattered on impact from a steel ball dropped on it during a public demonstration. Maybe Mattel should reintroduce Sizzlers as full sized vehicles. They look better and were mechanically more reliable.
  3. Ah....the French Connection. Nice pick up. This kit is relatively hard to find anywhere.
  4. He's a vintage flugelhorn restoration consultant/apprentice latte foam sculptor at, Like Yah, Mother of Junk on Driggs Avenue.
  5. Not dissimilar from a sink drain screen.
  6. Take a stroll through Greenpoint or Williamsburg in Brooklyn if you want confirmation.
  7. To tell you the truth, I don't know. I won't know until I get it on Monday, Tom. I won the auction at 11:03 P.M. last night. I was the only bidder. If you want the wheel covers, you're welcome to them. I'm going to rebuild it bone stock anyway. I'll let you know when it arrives.
  8. Randy, will you be offering those 3D printed Borrani wire wheels anytime soon?
  9. Snagged a couple Johan Mopars for very cheap and pretty much complete. Just won this '62 Chrysler 300 Bought this '68 Fury Police Pursuit I just missed getting this '67 Fury Sport. A complete kit for only 40 bucks. I didn't pull the trigger fast enough. I could kick myself.
  10. Recent sightings of aliens indicate they no longer respect U.S. immigration policies. Found this at the National Archives: Alien Files (A-Files) The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) began issuing each alien an Alien Registration number in 1940, and on April 1, 1944, began using this number to create individual case files, called Alien Files or A-Files. A-Files contain all records of any active case of an alien not yet naturalized as they passed through the United States immigration and inspection process. An A-File might also be created without any action taken by the alien, for example if INS initiated a law enforcement action against or involving the alien. In a few instances there are files on aliens who registered between 1940 and 1944. These files document aliens who received an Alien Registration number and form prior to 1944, and had an A-File created due to the re-opening of the case after 1944. Files from other series, such as Visa Files, were withdrawn and placed in the A-Files when cases were reopened in instances such as the filing of applications to replace a document, obtain a border crossing card, or petition for an immigrant relative. Ever since the Roswell Incident, these here Voltones have been nothing short of contumelious of our values. This insolent and snotty attitude resulted in the cancellation of "My Favorite Martian".
  11. Quick Shine Floor Finish is a good alternative to Pledge/Future/Whateverthehellitscalledinthenextsixminutes. At least it is widely available in most retail outlets patronized by humans. Pledge Whateveritscalledinthestates is difficult enough to find here. I called S.C. Johnson customer service and asked why it seems to be available only at Walmart. I explained that I exceed the 11 tooth maximum for Walmart customers and wondered why it is no longer found in grocery stores, supermarkets, etc. I was given a vague answer that it's up to distributors if they wish to order the product, which prompted me to inquire why I was informed by the folks what run the local supermarkets, grocery stores, etc. that they are unable to order it from their distributors who don't seem to carry it. I also asked why the company deems it necessary to change the product's name every couple months, which leads to consumer confusion. Customer service lady was flummoxed and said that they would look into this and get back to me. That was four months ago. I have a three month limit on holding my breath while waiting for a response. Re AK Interactive 100ml Gauzy Agent Glass Coat # 893, I've read on more than a few sites that this is essentially repackaged acrylic floor finish, similar to Tenax and Plastruct Plastic Weld being nothing more than repackaged, run-of-the-mill methylene chloride acrylic solvent in smaller, more expensive by volume, containers.
  12. Nothing much to say except it's the same stuff as Future.
  13. Reminds me of the story about a a cow, a sheep and a thylacine walking into a saloon....
  14. You're correct. I have a few '60 DeSotos and '62 Dodge Dart HT kits (USA Oldies reissues) molded in red, among other designer colors.
  15. Those are pigeon spikes.
  16. From IPMS Canada: What is the closest FS595 equivalent to the olive green colour that was used on the CF-104 Starfighter in the 1970's? From Cybermodeler: CF-104 Camouflage Color Profile and Paint Guide
  17. Actually, it looks like core sample.
  18. I used that to patch a cracked water main.
  19. Read through this thread: A leopard never changes its spots.
  20. Magic Sculpt is great to work with. It can be easily sanded, carved, scribed, ground, etc. It feathers nicely into the surrounding plastic. I modified the body, rear fenders, front end, spoiler and tail of this RoG reissue of the Protar Ferrari 250 GTO with it. Zero shrinkage. Try that with solvent-based putties.
  21. Aye, that it be. Trust me, it's great stuff.
  22. Get some Magic Sculpt. It's a two-part epoxy clay which is water soluble. Mix the resin and hardener, fill the indentations with small amounts of the Magic Sculpt, use a water moistened fingertip to smooth it out (Use a wet Q-tip to remove any which might have covered the scripts. It'll come right off.) and when it is cured, you can carefully sand it to match the contours. Magic Sculpt is better than solvent-based putties because it doesn't shrink nor does it attack the underlying styrene. I fabricated an entire left tailfin on a Johan 1960 Desoto Adventurer with Magic Sculpt.
