I'm now going to be spending much of my free time caring for a family friend who is crippled with dementia. Most of his own family are doing nothing so its been left to me, my mum, my sister and my aunt to spend 24hrs a day with him. Me and my sister have jobs that entail long hours yet we are expected to look after him while they sit on their fat you knpw whats waiting for an inheritance. I dont mind doing something to help but i want to have them do their share. I've already spent 2 years looking after my grand aunt and another 6 years caring for my gran who both had dementia also. I dont see why I am expected to give up my life again when they aren't. I sound like i dont care but i do, its just he's not family and i've done my share already and its someone elses turn now. when i was caring for my gran i was in and out of my bed multiple time through the night so didn't get a lot of sleep and i did that for 5 years. I've done a couple of nights looking after him already and its just the same and selfish as it sounds i just dont want to do it again. I think its harder this time as he is failing so quickly and its much more physical with him, his walking is nearly finished and he has no idea of where he is at any time. and being male going to the toilet is much more difficult as it is nearly impossible to get him to sit so I've had to do things I never thought I would do. this is the guy i learned to rebuild starters and alternators from so he's always been someone i have a lot of respect for and he's always been the first to help anyone with anything so it really hurts to see most of his family abandonning him when hes done so much for them.

Look through some of the 3d printers. there are multiple body kits available from them. For the studebaker something like a porsche rwb, mx5 or rx7 might be a good starting point as they are pretty rounded shapes but they will need cutting apart to make fit. There are also the smaller wheel arch fenders available in many sizes. Aoshima also do a couple of over fender sets that each have 3 different sets of fenders in. They're more for the bozzuko style cars but they might be a good starting point if you prefer to work with plastic.

Its interesting to me to see howsome of you guys views have altered (I was going to put change but i think altered is more accurate in this case) in the last couple of years since the other ev thread. a couple of years ago this thread would barely have lasted a day, lol -

man you guys in the usa already eat loads of bugs, thats why a lot of your food produce isn't imported to europe because the bug count is too high. Your fda really need to update their food safety guidance from the 1920s to the 2020s. Some of your foods can be 2% bugs and be still be safe to sell -

my electricity had doubled in price once already this year, and its more than doubling in october. All my electricity is from renewables but i still have to pay the fossil fuel rates. I was paying more a week for electric in march than for rent so i dont know whats going to happen over winter when i put my heaating on again. but picking a new leader is seemingly more important than people freezing and startving if you see how our gov are acting. The one candidate actually boasted he took money from poor areas to give to the rich and thats who we have deciding who gets to survive winter. Doesn't matter what side they're on, all them are absolutely useless at fixing problems but plenty good at shouting look at me -

I was just guessing based on what i see on the roads locally -
The revell beretta drag chassis might be a good fit. Its already pretty narrow but you'd need to remake a couple of the roll cage bars around the screen.

Which Beetle kit fits this criteria?
stitchdup replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
the engine in those is two parts with a fairly thick chassis inbetween, its probably closer to 1/22 scale too and would be a struggle to fit the coyote or even a t2. hopefully it wont be too long before a 3d print becomes available as they're a popular drag engine. your suggestion of modding the beetle engine is robably the only one for now unless you wanted to do a custom version as theres an og style engine with the porsche fan housing available now. That is a cool diecast though, i have all the vws in the series -

only got one completed but its a turbo so you cant really see much of it. Its from the revell t3 un bus kit but you can find it in the camper and magnum bus too. -
you might be able to find out their personal facebook account through the olsen brothers facebook page. Usually you need a personal account to start a page but its a while since i've used facebook so that might have changed. it might be under details or something about the page, or if you can look through the page history it should say who set up the page somewhere.

The problem where i live isn't green energy, we generate way more electricity than we can use locally from renewables but we dont have the capacity to export it where its needed. We have the worlds main marine power test site and the test site for new windmills on the islands because of extreme weather conditions, and the eu's renewables school is still on the islands even though we left the eu, so i guess its a pretty importan site. Students travel from all over the world to study at emec. Pretty soon there will be a load more electricity geneated locally so hydrogen production is being considered for some of the uninhabitated islands as we have planty of them that have no archeological value and are little more than rock with a few sheep on. The local bus company trialled some electric buses and the only ttime they made the manufacturers stated range they were empty. when they had more than half capacity the range dropped by 25% and 40% if it was full. And the drop couldn't really be acounted for due to passenger load not being constant. Sometimes it would do 5 runs, the next it would be 3 and it just didn't work. Theres a local ferry being run on hydrogen for the last 5 years and its maintenance costs are lower now, but that may be because the guys from emec keep a good watch on it due to there being lots of testing. That boat still has the ability to run on diesel but the next boats are probably going to be hydrogen fueled in some form, be that cells or fuel. The plans for the boat look pretty sleek and slightly star trekish in look. In some ways it like they took a boats of the future from the 1960s and went thats the look we want, lol. -
Not sure how i managed it but i deleted the pics i was going to post. Heres some more recent ones after some more work. The front is now fittd and I've started reshaping the sides to be more rounded. All the parts that aren't orange or red are the acrylic nail filler. The fenderless version might be what I end up building
