marbelised plastic kits
stitchdup replied to stitchdup's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
that just screams body cracks to me, black and white styrene just doesn't seem like a good combo as I've found the black monogram plastic to be some of the most brittle, while the white seems more forgiving -
Groovy man! The thing that jumps out at me is how aligned the van scene seemed to be in the us and uk. The styles are much closer than hot rods were at the time, even if the base vehicles are different. I'm sure I have some old articles and a book somewhere. I like that people are restoring these vans now, and its surprising how many seem to have survived nearly intact, if a little rusty

marbelised plastic kits

I wonder if revell could be convinced to do their camper kit in marbelised plastic. Might be a fun special edition for the 75th anniversary thats coming up in 2024. Even just the body parts marbelised would suit me -
manner and manners are comonly confused in the written form

Nice work on the surf boards. I was a skateborder myself but a few of my friends surf. I was asked to show some surf guys around the islands a few years ago simply because both had board in the name, lol. fun guys to hang around with for a few days but since i cant swim its never appealed as something to try. I have enjoyed the grant mcnamara series about big wave riding at st nazairre though, those guys are insane

the humbrol enamels are good, especially the old tins but they are getting harder to find. the acrylics seem to have sand added at some point during manyfacuring cos none of them are any good. i bought a joblot of 80 pots and none were any use except adding texture. strangely the acrylics they make for their warhammer stuff are really good paints

control is more important than speed in drifting, but speed is always more entertaining

marbelised plastic kits
stitchdup replied to stitchdup's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
That makes sense, I was kinda hopeful there would be a kit that was all marbelised, it would be something cool to have on the shelf -
I stripped some chrome from what i thought was one set of moon discs today. Instead i found one red/pink marbelised plastic and one lime green marbelised plastic under the chrome. I've nevr seen kits done with the plastic this way so am wondering what kits it could be. The moon discs are slightly larger diameter than the other I have so they may be from a 1/24 kit originally but i got them as lot of parts. Under the chrome was a layer of black primer then the plastic under that. I thought they were black plastic until i tried to glue them which is when i found the black base to the chrome, and it looked to be kit chrome rather than rechromed as it has some age to it

I just got a 3d printed body that was described as resin. It seems much harder material than the majority of 3d resin prints i have. There was some sticky gunge coming out of the inside of the body that is a dark urine colour and a little of it behind the rear wheel arches. Is this normal or something the printer has got wrong? I haven't noticed it on any of my other prints. The resin is a lot darker than most too, being on the blacker scale of grey when my others are pretty light grey. It sure is tough to sharpen the body lines on this stuff

to err is human is pretty common phrase and can be directly linked to rubbers on the end of a pencil

Dollar strength vs. The yen

its just one of the quirks of royal protocol over here. our post is the royal mail so it, most government and a lot of other stuff shuts down pretty much for a mourning period. -

wait til they hear about the multiverse -
for me I'll be buying at least 5 of them. 1 for my vw group collection, one to correct the interior in my alpha audi rs4 (£160 quid and they didn't even get the interior right on it, they did a basic a6 interior and this has the right interior), one to slam and one to do a petrol audi a8 which should just mean knocking some of the edges back a bit.

your best bet is to search aoshima on ebay, its probably your best bet to find a set as i couldn't find them on 1999.co.jp/eng . you could also try texas_3d_customs who is a member here and does 3d printing for people

i think its the prettiest car ford europe ever made. i nearly bought one as a project 15 years ago but there really wasn't enough left for my skill level to fix it to a decent standard. the guy that bought it did a lovelly job, especially given how rotten it was

The mercedes arrived yesterday, not really got a plan now as its not going to work for my hauler idea but its unusual enough that I'll do something with it. Maybe slammed on big white walls and lose some of the chrome. The 3d ford consul capri body just arrived. Its going to be a singer style build on an italeri escort chassis. Not sure if I'll open the hood or not yet. I'll be taking it to work tonight as my other builds aren't an a position to be carried around. Some of the body lines on the capri seem a little soft to me so the first job will be to do something with them and extend the chassis 5mm
