  1. My friend I've been helping look after is now on end of life care. His alzheimers has progressed faster than I've ever seen before to the point you can see massive changes in just a couple of hours. It's like losing a parent again as he was the person i turned to for help when my dad passed. I'm hoping to visit him on weds after my shift is finished if he lasts that long
  2. very cool, we call that style of boat a yoal in orkney
  3. two is just a pair but three is the start of family
  4. i dont know what it is, but once the answers gets posted i'll be looking for those wheels. i think they would suit a mk1 golf
  5. *warning
  6. does everything in america have a cancer waning now?
  7. this is rik hovings site- https://www.customcarchronicle.com/ and this is his fotki- https://public.fotki.com/Rikster/ i should warn you its very easy to spend days on both
  8. overkill on the real down low (its the world record holding lowest car and used to be a hillman imp, which was chosen due to it having a very low engine)
  9. i bought some cop strength pepper spray for defence purposes. i'm going to have to return it cos it only worked on 2 of them
  10. i saw a tip for painting one piece wheels in an old scale auto. the tip was to scribe around the rim if needed then paint the wheel part first. once the centre is dry use a little very thinned black paint around the outside of the rim so its fairly wet then brush paint the tyre. the thinners should stop the paint going onto the rim and give you a good clean edge and once the thinners evaporate the area with the thinned paint shoul settle down to match. I'm at work now but i think it was one of the sa tips and hints mags it was in. the article used tamiya acrylic paints and i seem to remember it said it didn't work with enamels
  11. L.S.D is a helluva drug
  12. not to be "that guy" but which car is it? i got lost trying to follow the linked thread as it weaves it way through 1 lot of parts split between 2 cars. its a cool car either way
  13. second hand parts used can often be more satisfying than tearing plastic on a new kit
  14. round 2 posted some test shots of the 68 a couple of days ago. it looked pretty good
  15. you could try the bondic thread, its a few years old but it works the same way. if its like bondic it has uses like light lenses, filling lock holes and holes in roof chops
  16. most of the warhammer and citadel miniatures paints are flat. they thin nicely with tamiya thinners too but many of the metallics need a base coat
  17. all my crockery and silverware just stays on the drainer. i only have a couple of each and live alone so it works for me and frees up space for food. my kitchen isn't very big so cupboard space is limited
  18. yeah, my job is to sit here all night. the other guys sit on the bridge but i sit in the passenger canteen so i have work space. seriously, my job is just to be here, nothing else but i do little bits of cleaning just to save work when its needed and we have internet so its not too bad. only down side is i cant spray stuff on board
  19. it wasn't me, i didn't do it, the photos are fake, you cant prove anything
  20. Similar to the irked and pleased threads but this one is for shocking things. For example the thing that shocked me today was it would be cheaper for me to fly to america for the weekend than to get 6 squirty bottles of las totally awesome cleaner delivered. £1186 for delivery when a seat on the plane is £1162. So what shocked you? it doesn't have to be sticker shock
  21. tomorrows dinner. the sausages i made myself using local pork,my home grown pepper (the only one that grew, lol), but i bought the onions and mushrooms. Will be served with home made roast potatoes. a handy tip if you want light fluffy roast tatties is to half boil the potatoes and let them get cold, then reboil with clean water until they start cracking. now you have perfectly prepared tatties to roast. if you dont change the water they end up with a claggy texture due to the starch. I learned this tip while working at a michelin 3 starred restaurant as second chef, and it was partly my soup that earned the stars (it got highly recommended)
  22. pretty much the same view as in front of me. behind in front
  23. I think your problem is the 40 doesn't really have the wheels centred even when stock, so lowering it only emphasises the distortion. heres a couple of stock side views where you can see by the tyres that they aren't centred. they aren't far off but at stock height its much less noticable.
