  1. I'm guessing its about 20-25% ev at the moment
  2. yes, fossil fueled vehicles are in their death knell in europe
  3. The problem where i live isn't green energy, we generate way more electricity than we can use locally from renewables but we dont have the capacity to export it where its needed. We have the worlds main marine power test site and the test site for new windmills on the islands because of extreme weather conditions, and the eu's renewables school is still on the islands even though we left the eu, so i guess its a pretty importan site. Students travel from all over the world to study at emec. Pretty soon there will be a load more electricity geneated locally so hydrogen production is being considered for some of the uninhabitated islands as we have planty of them that have no archeological value and are little more than rock with a few sheep on. The local bus company trialled some electric buses and the only ttime they made the manufacturers stated range they were empty. when they had more than half capacity the range dropped by 25% and 40% if it was full. And the drop couldn't really be acounted for due to passenger load not being constant. Sometimes it would do 5 runs, the next it would be 3 and it just didn't work. Theres a local ferry being run on hydrogen for the last 5 years and its maintenance costs are lower now, but that may be because the guys from emec keep a good watch on it due to there being lots of testing. That boat still has the ability to run on diesel but the next boats are probably going to be hydrogen fueled in some form, be that cells or fuel. The plans for the boat look pretty sleek and slightly star trekish in look. In some ways it like they took a boats of the future from the 1960s and went thats the look we want, lol.
  4. Not sure how i managed it but i deleted the pics i was going to post. Heres some more recent ones after some more work. The front is now fittd and I've started reshaping the sides to be more rounded. All the parts that aren't orange or red are the acrylic nail filler. The fenderless version might be what I end up building
  5. met is the most common name for the cops of scotland yard
  6. Thanks, they look like they might work for me
  7. I'm looking for some files with a more hooked end than the commonly available files. Ideally they need to be a fairly tight hooked end similst to fish hooks. I have some that are a loose s shape but i need tighter ends for some areas where i can only get to one side of the piece and have some curves to add. Mainly i need half round and round files in this shape but full sets are always usefull
  8. Bought a rebuilder from ebay but i like it too much as its built so i might just redo the foil and leave it. Monogram 55 chevy done as a mild custom. Stance is pretty good too
  9. Its almost as if electric cars were designed for leasing, not selling. How long until we have to pay a subscription to tesla or lucid just to be able to drive a car we will never own but still costs just as much as buying.
  10. me, myself and I are a terrible group to lose an argument with

  13. all the cars have FRESH paint, toyota made a model called the PRINCE and OF course its BEL AIR week in the shop,
  14. blur were a mainstay of the 90s brit pop movement in music and much cooler than oasis
  15. Got the roof line completed tonight. I'm using finger nail acrylic filler to reinforce the joins, and to add some thickness where I'm reshaping the body. The plastic on the kit is about half the thickness of a 1/25 kit so doing this allows me to file it down without worrying about going through the plastic. It sets as hard acrylic so its a little tougher to work with but it is very strong. You notice the body isn't all the way down on the fenders in the pics, this is because I haven't sorted the arches yet as I'll be doing them once the front of the body is connected. I would have it fitted tonight but i ran out of the nail filler and i have nothing to space the body apart with either. Well you'll have to wait for pics as my camera just went flat
  16. im the mid 80s it cost a lot of money to scrap cars on the islands. so we buried them along a bit of shore that was eroding. you wouldn't be allowed to do it now but theres 2 mk1 transits, multiple mk1 + 2 fiestas, a hillman avenger in blue with a fetching white vinyl roof, a destroyed chevette hs,a moggy minor van, 3 mini 900s, 2 landrovers and the herald. other people were doing the same but that was the contents of my garden growing up. flowers? pah!
  17. Ukraine are doing that now with wooden himars
  18. Some 3d printed parts arrived over last few days. Got a rover v8, allison gearbox and tremec 6 speed from iceman collections and a late vr6 engine and 4 door mk1 jetta from diolex production
  19. pillow of the travel variety are usually used wrong as the opening goes to the rear
  20. the audi is very nice, the headlights are a chore though with all the reflectors and its a lot of work if you plan to lower it
  21. Its really starting to take shape now. At first I wasn't sure how you were going to manage it but now I see it happening. nice work.
  22. I think I've goofed on my cut lines. The door edge should be much closer to the rear fender, and I think my rear windows are too long. You can see where its out in the pic of a stocker below. I could cut a thin strip out of the rear but that would take the front too far back. Since I have to add some plastic to the rear of the window to reshape it, I'll also add some to the front pillar to move it back. This will save me cutting the roof again and since i have to build front screen pillars I can make them a little thicker to move the door shuts back a little. I think I also have to chop it a little as it seems too tall but I think I'll see how it looks after the windows are shaped and open. This might end up as more of a project than originally planned as I have a nice jag irs and 3d printed rover v8 but they wont fit the fenders. I wont decide yet as the fenders are useful for holding the body in shape
  23. your correct, its got an a frame. If I can straighten it, its going under the roadster
  24. other than the obvious, i have found no sucessful ways to skin a cat
