Has anyone heard from Geoff? Its been a year since he was on and I've not seen him around the other forums either
-
You can absolutelly do that. Personally I have no interest in factory stock yet some of my fav builders on the forum only build that way. You can easily judge something only by the workmanship and it happens often in the 1/1 world too. Some of the vehicles that have won ambr or detroit have fantastic attention to detail but the end result isn't to my tastes. Quality workmanship will always stand out even if its not necessarily aesthetically pleasing to your eye

theres a mk1 transit conversion available, and a long wheelbase. I think its motobitz that do them -
I think it looks pretty good as it is. Once the chrome goes on it will bring it to life, but maybe a company logo or something on the doors might work too

Spots on gold spray paint

You can wet sand metallics and pearls. I've done it with hok on a deep chip (dropped my sprue cutters on the roof) and it turned out fine. The secret is not to change direction and not to press too hard on it. You can see how it was done here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/159305-57-bug-with-working-suspension-teardrop-trailer/ -

c'mon man, I'm sure you've seen people being personally attacked on the forum over toy cars. Do you really think 2 divisive topics like politics and religion would end well. This place is a respite from from seeing that stuff on the news all the time. We dont need a jan 6th on the forum -
I dont know why you guys are complaining, gas is over ten bucks a gallon where i am, and from next week I'll be paying more for electric than for rent.

It says online he's sitting this year out after spending most of last year filming away from his family. He says he'll be back for the okc series -
Molotow Chrome Marker breakdown

How old is the pen? has it been stored in a cool place? Has the paint you are using it over fully gassed out? Has it been stored with the tip pointing up? The pens seem to go bad if they are somewhere with large temprature flucuations. I have a set of the first pens that are still good but i dont keep them anywhere near heat and store them with the point up when not being used. You can pump out a little of the pens and brush it on without any problems but you have to be quick or it will dry. You may find that it just needs a longer shake if its been sitting a while. If the paint you are using it over hasn't fully gassed out it can gunk up the tips and cause them to stop working. -
Very cool, the rb looks like it should have always been there

I only have notifications set for 1 email a week. That part is working but its on the site itself i dont get the green number on the bell. It seems to be working now, but yesterday I was quoted/reacted a number of times but only got the one notification. Its not a big deal, I can live without using my profile. It just makes it quicker for me to reply if one is needed

I get the first notification each day, its the ones following that I dont get

I like your vision. It looks much nicer than stock to me. I like your rear end treatment and how it looks sorta spaceshipesque. Playing on that a one piece tail light with a similar treatment to the grille might look cool. I would also bring the top edge of the rear bumper up slightly to bring it inline with the trim above it which could be acheived by a slight reshape to the trim along the bottom of the trunk. At the moment it looks to have a slight droop but this could be a trick of the light. This would also give you a nice body line to use if decide on fender skirts. Looking forwrd to following this

Is anyone else not getting notifications? Since yesterday when someone quotes my posts the notification no longer arrives or shows in the bell icon at the top of the page next our names. They were working earlier in the day

I like to have a detailed engine and interior mainly. I dont worry too much about suspension unless you can see it without lifting the models, and usually most of my chassis are just satin black cos I dont see much point spending a lot of time on something only i will ever see. I dont mind curbsides, especially now with 3d printing as there are many options for engine and interiors that even 3 years ago seemed like a pipe dream. But more important than any of these options is the subject matter and how well done the body is. Theres no point in a nicely detailed interior or engine if the body looks wrong.

there is a resin p6. at least that what it was described as before i made the mistake of buying one. I enclose pics only for your amusement. on the plus side it has round wheels. If it wasn't for the white resin you could see all the pinholes too -
Very cool. The story of the cars restoration is also pretty cool if you can find the issue of customs illustrated it was in

The interior on these is that wierd rubberish stuff so its awkward to paint and glue. The tamiya interior fits with a little trimming on the edges. I have a spare interior if you want it

they made them from the late 40s/very early 50s right through til the 80s. The bodies didn't change too much in that time but the engines got upgraded quite often. Its also got the tightest turning circle of any car being able to do a 180 in just 2 lanes of traffic

I'd ask the 1/24 place if they could do you a set in 1/12.

Its the electricity rise that has me concerned, mine is a pre pay meter so its a little under double what it was. I'm going to be paying more for electric than i do for rent. Being single none of the numbers the gov use apply to me as everythig is calculated based on a couple, It was the same during furlough, I was in the group that got no help so this month my rent is finally caught up and all the extra cash i thought i was going to have now has to go on electric. I dont know why i bother going to work sometimes cos you try to pay your way and just when you think your ahead they move the goalposts yet again and say they had to. And while everybody else is going to be struggling for heat, food and electric those same mps that do nothing to help us, gave themselves a 2 grand payrise. all in it together? only if its brown and falls downhill
