I tried duplicolour clear on it and it went silver, and I tried a wash of tamiya light smoke but it did the same. A club member has used future and thought it was ok, but I havent tried it myself yet
Recently got these. I was pleasantly susprised by how stuffed the ford pick up box is (until I tried to get it all back in the box, lol) and the caddy came with some nicely rechromed bumpers to replace the tatty originals which were in the box too.
I have to go to the post office later to pick up another box too
The club I'm in has themed builds each month, so I usually try to build for whatever the theme is, but saying that I have others that I do work on while waiting for paint and glue to dry but they tend to be long term projects. I have too many builds that something has annoyed me on and they have been left to sit such as my chopped/sectioned and fadeaway fenders 48 woody, that just needs the body painted.
the original gone in 60 seconds, california kid, the blues brothers (both movies), cannonball run 1 + 2, gumball rally, convoy, smokey and the bandit 1+ 2 (not seen 3), Mad max, the great race, the original vanishing point, cars 2, getaway
You might find the chrome pens and paint at a grafitti store, I believe that's what they were made for originally, I got mine from one in the UK and they had a lot of different size tips for them (I need to get some 1/2mm to touch up the exhaust, lol) They dont hold up too well to handling but I've been told future doesn't mar the shine but I havent picked any up yet
I think it's because on the forums like this we are all sharing one goal, which is to make our next model better than the last one, and to share and learn tips. It doesn't matter if you have a bank balance that reads like a phone number or not, because on the forums all we see are the builds. In real life most people are out for themselves and for that I blame lowest common denominator reality tv where it all something for nothing/selfishness/instant gratification and if you try that on the forums you get nailed for it. In a way we're all socialists when it comes to models
I've been getting pretty good results with the molotowe chrome marker pens, only the carbs and valve covers are kit chrome on this engine, all the rest is done with chrome the pens, and the chassis and suspension all with the pens
You could try here - http://www.ema-models.co.uk/index.php/catalogsearch/result/?q=resin -I've only used them for plastic and tools but they have resin dyes and stuff too
Yeah, I emailed them the other day about incomplete kits for the spares box, and they said there is another big collection about to be posted soon. And it's only spending too much if you aren't going to use it, at least thats what I keep telling myself, lol
That's pretty cool, I like the lighter blue on the wheels, nearly sure there's one similar to yours in the classic rallying at the moment. I did this to the revell release (was my first build when I started again)
I would like to make one of the releases this year into a 4 door so I can build my old one, but I would like to see the zackspeed version released the most
