  1. I feel there is a more fundamental reason. His management style in terms of keeping the 3 head engineers not knowing about one another concerning project lead was to me, a serious flaw. Sure tech reasons contributed, etc... but with a cohesive team and a well defined project head the car could have been a success. One can be a victim of there experience and he probably developed his management style while at the then big 3. Which worked there, but not at a small company who needs to be nimble and innovative. But then again, we now have decades of properly defined workflow and best practice to glean from. Were as back then it may not have been the case.
  2. Wow, very cool, thanks Bill. The only reason DMC failed was due to that persons name which was on the moniker. However at least he did provide many to live a dream, albeit for a short while. At least they did that, tragic as it all was in the end.
  3. Hi Tom, I see a few diff Ottlites at Michaels, do you mind snapping a pic?
  4. Hi, So I had bought an HRM 917 kit through Strada a while back and it recently arrived. I only see 1 page being parts and instructions. However the instructions reference parts like C27 and C28 but I have no clue which those are. Also referenced are C32, C33 where it says "see kit instructions #16" but I don't a page with #16 on it. Am I missing brain cells or additional documentation? BTW this is an awesome kit. HRM is superlative! Great prices, great products. Would any one happen to have an email for HRM?
  5. Love Woody in the back, classic! BTW, awesome build!
  6. Well, its an interesting thought to use a Heller/Union kit which run ~$60 on eBay at the moment. Perhaps get an HRM 917 engine/trans kit ~$35 and rework it?
  7. Well, I read a review of that kit on this forum and it sounded like the engine bay was a big let down. Have you seen its engine bay up close?
  8. Hi, Does any one know a source for a 1/24 scale flat 8 used in the Porsche 908? I'd be uber stoked over a engine/trans-axle kit. I know MFH have a 908 kit, wonder if they would also sell the engine/trans-axle separate? Thanks in advance.
  9. Holy shizzle! The level of craftsmanship leaves me speechless and resorting to Ebonics.

    57' Chevy.

Dude that is soo epic, OMG! To say you've mastered weathering would be an understatement.
  11. Where you charged for em? Did you email him at all?
  12. Man that pic looks so choice. Dayam...
  13. Well... then again what I saw was on a few episodes of the Velocity Channel. I forgot the shop name but it was in Utah run by a guy seemingly full of himself. Still, a good show and pretty awesome work.
  14. It's time to pilfer! I've seen vehicles in similar condition restored.
  15. Its odd that the MFH kit doesn't call it a Ford. But man, what a sweet ride and a sweet kit for sure. I really love that 60's era of racing, such beauty in style.
  16. It's unbelievable what detail you all are able to accomplish on a 1/24 scale. I'm finishing my first and boy do I have an immense amount of respect for you masters. Which it seems, most all of you are. All the more from me to learn from
  17. Yep you're right.
  18. Ah, cool JB, much appreciated.
  19. Thanks for the heads up Snake, much appreciated.
  20. Well, I got a very good deal on an Optivisor from my local hobby shop. They rant and raved on how well it works for em and I can return it if not satisfied. When I get a real work space set up, I envision having a desk version as well. I'm a big fan of having many tools for those quick short needs.
  21. You bring up good points Richard. I also uber appreciate this forum and its diversity for its purity in the love of this hobby. So diff from other countless forums that I am a member off, no BS, just the facts in terms of scale modeling. Totally cool. In terms of woman, well my local hobby shop has been selling many vintage VW kits to mostly woman lately. Albeit younger woman but still they do build.
  22. OMG, you are a master! Wow! Simply a killer build!
  23. Wow, is that 3 of each left to right; Mk1, Mk4, Mk2?
  24. Nice feedback, thanks for that.
  25. Hi, A bit late to the convo but it looks to be the Fuji R380 kit; http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10000755t2/60/2 I read that it was developed by Prince Motor Company before Nissan/Datsun bought em out in the 60's who refined the car further in to the kit we see now. The car looks to have given Porsche 904/906 a run for the money and beating them on a regular basis. At least in the Japanese Grand Prix.
