  1. Ah, thats interesting. Socrates I think said we are born knowing everything while not realizing it. And then simply go through life remembering it. Or something like that.
  2. Thanks lordairgtar. I hope my post illustrates the design going in the Cube as I wasn't meaning to say "hey look at me". Its just that like with most things, unless its pointed out and explained, the points are missed. I suppose one can say a good design speaks for itself but I've never felt this the case. Rather, a good design is one that doesn't take a lot to explain or understand. Its like an epiphany as in "OMG that's soo cool, i get it". Now this is different than art as I feel Ferrari's for example are art, not necessarily good design, but simply a sexy sweet thang! Now the new ones, well I dunno about them as I'm merely speaking of 60's era and before. The new ones seem like tech marvels but I don't get into em as I like sports cars fairly simple. This is a most excellent topic BTW, thanks to the OP for posting it.
  3. Wow, that is sooo bitchen. Killer job for sure.
  4. Take the Cube for example, of which I have a Krom (pronounced chrome) edition and I call it Crom after Conan The Barbians warrior god At any rate I watched a presentation by its designer, some French guy I think. A few points which I really like; Asymtric rear. Rear cargo door opens away from curbside making load/unload convenient. Very square so tons of headroom room/space. Drivers seat height cranks up very high and down very low. Keyless entry and ignition, making grocery shopping easier. Bluetooth everything. Voice nav. IOS integration. Tach is blue after the water, speedo is white after the moon. Dash is curved and called a hot tub design. Touch screen in dash stereo/nav etc... Headliner has ripples to simulate water dropping as do all speaker vents including rear Fosgate sub. Front end looks like a pig wearing sunglasses. Rear bench slides forward and back. Rear seats recline pretty far back for those long road trips so one can sleep. Rotating or still interior lights, looks like a disco bus. My wife and I went car shopping and nothing I saw that was practical tickled me. At the end of a grueling fruitless day, we said screw it and test drove a Cube. As soon as getting in one we started to giggle and laugh. I'm like oh yea, I want a car that makes me giggle and happy. Been 3 years now, no issues great mileage and rare so not many on the road. Now even more so being they are discontinued. Forgot, the CV tranny takes a bit to get used to but I can hit the power band at will just about. Also its short wheel base makes for being able to turn around a frisby (just about).
  5. I'm unsure, a part of me thinks this is simply a publicity stunt for a return TG show generating mega views.
  6. Ah this is truly bitchen. What a treat for any one let alone a young one. Kinda reminds me of a pay for service called Exotic Car Racing were you can track Porsche's and Ferrari's, McLaren's etc...
  7. Hi, Curious if any one can cast an engine in resin from its original 1/24 scale white metal parts? Hit me off list if so desired for what I'd love to have done. Thanks in advance.
  8. Sorry Frank if I seem to be monopolizing the forums. I haven't really posted much as I've nothing of value add to contribute. Did I offend some how?
  9. How about Jay Leno? Change the name of the show to Top Chin.
  10. Wow, killer tutorial and finished product, love it! Many thanks for the knowledge nuggets!
  11. 2011 Nissan Cube Krom Edition. Raced a Porsche 356 on the way home and killed it. My car, well its fun as hell, sat nav, hands free yada yada, back up cam, 9 speaker Fosgate, 6 color rotating interior floor lights, 35MPG on avg. But I get a lot of Cube rage on the road from others. Apparently ppl hate being behind an asymmetrical car going the speed limit.
  12. Eh, dunno bout that, I don't know him personally, gonna assume you don't either. And not debating here as I don't want to start a flame war over a stranger. However the only ones who can really make a character judgement are his family and friends. Besides if he or TG go off air, my life will remain as is. Its all cannon fodder in the end, albeit the kind of cannon fodder I enjoy immensely but still.
  13. UPDATE; While I'm still waiting for Liquitex, I've been employing jwrass and Matts suggestions and using Tamiyas thinner (X20A fromage). Finally painting is no longer a friggen nightmare OMG. Things are actually turning out how I'd like them. Keeping ones palette proper is key as is a proper paletting technique. I was speaking with my local hobby shop and they mentioned while Tamiya is better then Testors etc..., they do require work to look right. They mentioned Vallejo as one that works great out the bottle. Perhaps Gunze too?
  14. Well I love TopGear and what ever Jeremy wants, Jeremy should get. I work with Prodooshers all day long. A good one would have known there boundries. Fetch me another producer plz...
  15. I've compared the data contained on the pages you linked and they both show identical physical dimensions, non LH of course. Yet a Wikipedia article states the Carrera 10/910 is shorter then the Carrera 6/906. Seems odd.
  16. Hi, Curious if any one knows the size diff between the 2 bodies? I understand the 910 is shorter but the same width? Were there any other diff like height etc...? And I assume one simply divides by 24 to get the measurement to a 1/24 scale model? Only taking bodies here. Thanks in advance.
  17. Yes, those MFH kits are perfect, pricy but I think its warranted seeing just how much detail you have. And the instructions are excellent. I've there P68 on the shelf waiting for when I am a more experienced modeler. Man what a kit! It would be cool if they sold parts as an option.
  18. Hey, Well I looked at the Tamiya Testarossa. You're right and I should have been less vague about my post. Sorry about that. I mean the flat 12 from 60's era with all those intake stacks etc... Thats one fine looking engine. My complete question would have been why no one makes a resin version of the 60's era flat 12. Man I was half asleep earlier.
  19. Hi, Curious why no one, seemingly anyways, has made a 1/24 Ferrari flat 12 engine? Seems like such a beautiful looking motor. I suppose the answer would be "Where does one put it?". Is Fisher Model & Pattern the only ones making the awesome 312P? That would be a good candidate. Thoughts any one?
  20. Wow Quick GMC, sounds like ti will be a killer build when done. Cool deal. The Revell kit would be AWESOME if it had the Fujimi wheel/tire combo. It seems Fujimi usually has great wheels/tires on there kits.
  21. I was comparing the Fuji 427 vs the Revell kit. I went with the later after studying the instructions a bit. It seems a better model in general and happens to be a better price. However the only thing that the Fuji had over it were maybe the tires/wheels. That's easy to correct. So if you haven't yet bought, I'd suggest Revell.
  22. Wow, MANY thanks and duly noted. Awesome tips! I'm stoked. * UPDATE Seriously I've re read this a few time, spot on suggestions, really uber super.
  23. Hi, So you in essence left paint on the brush and it didn't dry out?
  24. Hi, I bought this, works very well. Variable speed etc... $20 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A8DXKXS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Chord though. However to your question on whether you need one. Well don't buy one unless you know for sure even if its say $20. They are handy for other things as well.
