Hi, I have it and think it's a very cool kit. Here is a review that will help your conundrum;

CA glue/Zap A Gap alternate containers
aurfalien replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi, So the Zap Flexi Tips are working really well. They should include a few with the product itself. But they are pretty darn cheap on there own. The tip is tiny with an O.D. of .5mm. -
Anyone know a source for these wheels?

Hi, Perhaps try and modify XR4 Longchamps? I've seen em in 14", 15" and 16" from the likes of Fujimi and Aoshima. I also found a place called FuguGarage that carries some nice resin Longchamps as well. PS These from USCP may work very nicely. Some mods if needed to be accurate to your supplied picture. -
Enhancing Tamiya Handy Drill
aurfalien replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi, So I went with a standard 2 amp potentiometer as the included motor is a 130 SA drawing 2 amps max. I had tried the Plasma Dash motor but it required a different pot allowing 5 amps max as that motor can draw up to 4 amps. Also this particular pot required more voltage so I wired 3 batteries up. Every thing ran well but in the end it was too much of a hot rod so I went with a 2 battery + default motor which is pictured. i did swap the chucks out for one allowing much smaller drill bits. -

Hi and thanks Rob, I read some of it but clearly not enough. I'm actually very sad over this news.

Hi, Wait a minute, I thought this was a Chapter 11 bankruptcy which means re organization etc... I certainly can't imagine the brand and its rather wonderful line up of kits going away.

Hi, I think Fujimi are excellent weather beginner or advanced. There tires/wheels are good, thee decals are good etc... I highly recommend them. Unsure about the Evo kit but I'm sure it's fine.

Revell (Germany) Ferrari 250SWB! New for October
aurfalien replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Hi, With regards to the AMT 250SWB, both Pat St-Martin and Bernard Kron did an amazing with that kit and pretty much stuck to script meaning OOB. Some mods but all in all they did an awesome job and made the kit look really nice. -
CA glue/Zap A Gap alternate containers

Hi and thanks for the reply. The nice thing about ZapAGap is that it comes in a few viscosities. Do you find Gorilla Glue to be a total or just good enough replacement? There is something about the ZapAGap, its dry time seems different, more user friendly. Or is it just me? -
Hi, I love my ZapAGap but the container sucks. I apply just a tad to very small pitch fork looking tool which works wonderfully in precise application. But in doing so, drops run down the side of the bottle and eventually sort of ruin it. Also the little needle sized tip they provide is not easily capped shut. Does any one have a source on better containers or simply how to better manage this?

Removing pre installed glass

Well, grey primer showed several casting seams etc... Albeit small but still unacceptable to standards as set forth here @MCM. -
Removing pre installed glass
aurfalien replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Here is a kit review and it shows the interior body and windows rather well. The body portion starts at about 1:25 minutes in. -

It's very very clean and no hint of adhesive. Very interesting. Pics to follow soon. -
Removing pre installed glass
aurfalien replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi and thanks for that. Well, I went ahead and taped it off as best I could and am in process of painting. I'll snap some pics of the inside when done. However it does look perfectly installed and the manufacturing process looks pretty amazing as such. -
Removing pre installed glass
aurfalien replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
That was a good one Casey. The wonderful Porsche 961. -
Esteemed colleagues, How does one remove pre installed glass like whats found in Snap Loc kits etc...? I bought a used kit which lacks the window masking and would much rather remove the glass than futz around with masking. Thanks in advance.
