I built this little bugger quite a while ago. Dusted it off, replaced the missing headlight and took a few pics before it got tucked away again. British Racing Green with an off-white roof, it was done with single layer automotive urethane. Somewhere between the dusting and the photos, the left door handle went MIA. Reward offered... Comments always welcome.

I bought it used so can't say if it's at HL or not. It's a Revell kit, if that helps.

You know, I seriously thought about all of that while putting it together. Someday when I'm a little better at that sort of thing, it might get done. I do have a hook that I'm going to add, along with an old fuel can, some coiled rope,a long antenna, radio and a first aid box. Thanks for the comments.

Here's a few things I do: Wipe the body down with rubbing alcohol swabs immediately before paint, make sure you're wearing nitrile gloves for every step during and after wipe-down. Use a proper tack cloth before spraying anything. Go over it twice but don't linger in any one spot or the resin from the cloth may transfer to the body. Don't be roaming all over the place during painting time. The less you move, the less you stir up dust. The less you handle the parts, the cleaner the job will be. Paint School 101: Most of the dirt in any paint job comes from the painter. Obviously you don't want to paint in a filthy environment, or in a wind storm, or with people wandering around the place. Or anywhere there are cats... A dedicated room or paint booth is ideal, but not always possible so you gotta make the best of what you have. I paint in my dirt floor garage, while standing close enough to the open door to vent the fumes, and 99% of my paint work is virtually spotless. It's all about knowing what not to do...

Just finished. Kind of a fun build, pretty simple with little option on how to put it together. But I'm happy with it. Nail polish provided the exterior colour and a coat of automotive clear gives the shine. Fireball wheels and tires (the kit rolling stock was MIA when I got it), and airbrushed Molotow chrome on the wheels. Looks better than kit chrome, in my opinion. Comments always welcome.

Very nice. Love the colour. I recently dusted off my 20 year old Mini Cooper to put in a proper case, and fell in love with it all over again. It's a pretty neat little kit.

Very nice. The green machine is the cat's behind!

Thanks for the compliments folks! I'm pretty pleased with how it finally turned out.

Thanks for the comments. This was a pretty simple kit, but it was fun to do. The pics don't do justice to the colour - it's very deep and much more of a burnt orange than the pics show.

-11 F here. Far too cold for this area. Being at the point where Lake Huron empties into the St Clair River, we rarely ever get down this cold. Even the dogs don't like it. Straight out, do the dirty deed and straight back in. No noodling round the yard the last few days.... -
No earthquake, just some butterfingers and a couple wobbly pops.

Yep, the grill comes in the kit. A little work is involved in mounting it in there, but I like the look.

Pretty much box stock, done in Testors orange and topped with a red-tinted automotive clear. I bought this kit hoping it came with the Hurst mags as shown on the box art. It doesn't. But, it was a fun build, so it's worth it. Big, luxury cruisers were always among my favourites. A little custom touch here and there and they go right to the top of my list. Comments always welcome.

Traditional Hot Rod 1930 Model A Closed Cab Pickup

Very cool! -
I built this Revell kit 15+ years ago. It hit the floor a few weeks ago. The floor emerged unscathed, but the '32 didn't... I found everything except the right outer door handle. Cleaned it up, put it back together and added some detail along the way. I swapped out the kit black wall tires for some Modelhaus Tires big n' little wide whites. Painted Ford Chrome Yellow in automotive single layer urethane. Comments always welcome.

I've ordered probably 5 or 6 times from Elm City. Great to deal with and ships pretty fast.

Great idea!

Holy Moly, that's nice! -
It's Q3 Light Turquoise for Scale Finishes. Awesome colour and very nice to spray.

They were on a sheet I got years ago. I think they came from Mike's Decals.

Very nice! Especially like the woodgrain and the interior! Well done.

I do most of my foil work this way. It's a great way for old eyes and slightly shaky hands!
