  1. I think the Supremes look pretty good myself although they are a bit deep.
  2. Definitely Monogram Thunderbird.
  3. Would you believe 15 years? Buddy said he parked it after his son was born and never got back to it. I really haven't had a chance to take a good look under it yet to check the break and gas lines. Like I said, the floor needs some work but the exhaust looks like it was installed last month but the previous owner said he put it on around '91. Gotta love stainless steel.
  4. Larry Watson painted Doug Carney's '63 Grand Prix when it was relatively new. It's generally considered the first "lace paintjob".
  5. It's an '85. Been sitting for quite a while but after putting oil down the cylinders and working the old gas through the lines it starts right up and pulls strong. There is some rust in the floors and a few bubbles here and there but generally an easy fix and pretty good shape for sitting for so long. Dosen't seem to be much mechanically wrong with it besides an exhaust leak near the front, [a gasket], mostly cosmetic. I'll work on it the rest of the year and repaint it next spring then it'll be all ready for cruis'n next summer.
  6. Just a thought, the windshield from a '63 or '64 Ford should also work in that merc. They'd be the same part in the real cars.
  7. Just like on a real 1/1 windshield, the only way to fix it is to replace it.
  8. Modelhaus makes some '64 Dodge pickups. The regular cab ones are all listed as "8 beds but the crew cab ones list "6-1/2 beds. I understand they're pretty good with custom orders so maybe you could order a regular cab and short box with the needed interior and trim by them selves minus a chassis and use the chassis from an MPC LRE pickup?
  9. Started on this one several years ago. The body and fenders have been painted since '08 but just not quite feeling it. Here's what the frame looks like,, I've been thinking about it and I've come to the conclusion that it should be a closed cab truck. I had this old MPC '27 [ish] tall T coupe body kicking around for years so I thought I'd do some cutting this afternoon. Not sure if I'm gonna keep the 1/4 windows yet or fill them in but this is the way I'm gonna go with it. Engine will be a single carb 260 from an old AMT Cobra roadster builtup which I'll clean up and repaint. Hopefully, I can get the new paint on the body to match the dark green paint I put on the box and hood years ago. LOL
  10. I suspect that's exactly what they do.
  11. That looks great Steve. Never disappointed when I open one of your posts.
  12. Finally finished it up and took some pics today. LRE kit with Gooche decals, GM front axel made poseable, parts box roll bar, lights and mirrors and grille guard and spare tire holder made from scratch. Paint is Tamiya acrilyc on the body with Testors bottle paint for interior.chassis etc. Wheels were from my original Warlock kit I had when I was a kid back in the late '70s and I built the rest of the truck around them.
  13. The Mustang at least came with engine and lights at one time. I got one for my birthday when I was 10 or 11. ['75 or '76] It was way too advanced for me at the time so it never got completely assembled. I remember that it was molded with mostly black parts with white for the body and maybe blue interior parts [??] and there was some nut and bolt construction in the chassis also. I have no idea which company packaged that version but I'd love to have another just for nostalgia sake.
  14. Oh, wait, not what you meant, I guess.
  15. Man, is that ever cool !!!
  16. Looks great Harry. You sure can do a lot with those large scale subjects.
  17. Also the '57 Vette ,stock and street machine. The '72 Vette hardtop also came as a street machine with a solid rear axel. [anyone know what engine was in that kit?]
  18. well, here's the only surviving pic of my Riv. Those old 110 cameras kinda sucked. Anyway, the lenses in the signal lights in the front bumper were clear with amber bulbs. Side marker lights were also clear lenses with amber bulbs for the signal/marker lights and clear bulbs for the cornering lights. [this was an option] You really couldn't see any amber in them unless the amber bulbs were on.
  19. I used to own a real '69 Riv in another lifetime. The body of the AMT kit is 100% dead on. That said, I doubt Frank will like it as it's a simple '60s era kit. ,, Me?, I love it. This is the only one I have built right now. This is how I wanted my 1/1 to look [minus the wheels that didn't exist back in the '80s] But, whoever gets one, PLEASE, don't paint the front signal lights and cornering lights amber like on the box of the last couple reissues of the kit, that's just wrong.
