  1. Slowly but surely, the pieces seem to be coming together on a new AM venture (not automotive related) I'm putting together, and that pleases me immensely.
  2. LinkedIn. Copious amounts of blow-hards that believe they have singular insight into success. It annoys me no end.
  3. I used to spend disproportionately large amounts, considering that I let my house fall apart while doing it, and my car too. Too busy buying all this junk that I really had no need for, only to end up selling most of it at a loss. House is gone, car is still a beat up piece of junk. Clever.
  4. OK, thanks. I know at least one version of the '65 El Camino also has the same camper as that '59 kit that you refer to. I'll have one, sooner or later, a '59 with camper that is. Built is a kid, and loved it.
  5. I don't know that I'd necessarily cal them guilty pleasure kits, but I sometimes like to take a stab at the odd 1:32 Revell or 1:24 Airfix aircraft models. Far from contemporary standards of tooling, research and design, they still offer a walk down memory lane, as these were the grail kits from my youth. In fact, I'll be starting a 1:24 Airfix Fw 190A this winter, and it's a total piece of junk,... quite the challenge.
  6. Does that version also have the camper shell? I've wanted the '59 with camper for quite a while now.
  7. And typical. I've bought kits in the past that I just had to have "right now", only to still have those same kits sitting on the unbuilt shelves 30 years later, because I was too busy buying new stuff to ever work on those others. Then why do you have them? I only have two or three that I'll never build, but only because they're a bow to kits I've owned in the past, very lousy kits, but reflective of having built those same kits when I was a pup.
  8. I have no idea, as I don't ask for notifications, other than PM's, and those I always get.
  9. i don't need some wife to tell me I have too many, I already know it. My guess (and it's purely a guess), is about 100, not near all of which are cars.
  10. OK, thanks.
  11. Forum emails are working now This was just posted on the 8th, so perhaps it's resolved now?
  12. I suspect the selling of fireworks in America will never stop, and for one very good reason,... tax revenue. Same reason cigarettes are able to be sold, even though those products kill thousands annually.
  13. I watched better than half of Sons of Liberty last night, I'll finish the rest this evening. Good program.
  14. We had some morons here still shooting off stuff past 12:30 last night, and that irked me, but other than that, I'm cool with it, and would certainly miss it if it were discontinued, which it will never be.
  15. This is really nice, and I like it a lot.
  16. Happy Birthday, America!!!
  17. A beautifully restored '70 Challenger T/A, or R/T convertible.
  18. We're grilling a huge pile of stuff here for our 4th weekend celebration, and that please me very, very much. (It's little wonder that I've packed on 10 pounds of blubber since I moved in here.)
  19. Spooky stuff, no doubt about it. We get the occasional tremor here (New Madrid Fault), but never very destructive, at least not in my lifetime anyway.
  20. Always a good idea. I've had to bite my tongue here several times lately.
  21. One foot on the gas, one hand on the horn, that's all you really need to know.
  22. Yep, then the new Outer Limits filmed it again.
  23. I recall in a MASH episode, that Charles said something like "my fingers can make the notes, but they can't play the music".
