  1. Totally cool. For some reason, the front end reminds me of the Mysterion.
  2. Interesting. I don't think I've ever chopped up a car model, but perhaps I will one day.
  3. Do you have a link to the Sunliner by any chance?
  4. OK, thanks. I think for the '69 GTX those were an option, but it appears that AMT didn't include them in the kit, so I thought maybe I'd snatch the ones from the 'Cuda, but I guess not.
  5. Yep, built one as a kid, which is long gone now, and when I realized the kit was available again, I snatched another one, as a tribute to the first one.
  6. Whenever I get the time to finish mine, it'll be completely green, hood and all. Black or charcoal gray primer is not a bad idea though, not at all.
  7. Oh yea, I'll get one eventually, no big rush there. My interest in WWI stuff comes and goes. I did find another WNW Fokker D.VII (Alb.) though, and at a very decent price.
  8. Good idea. For all the years that I worked in engineering offices, I always snatched the thin cardboard from packages of blue-line paper; they were almost the exact same size as the work area on my bench.
  9. Looks good. And I agree, almost too nice for a workbench that's more than likely to get all splashed up with paint and stuff.
  10. I suspect this thread might receive a lot more responses if the title was a bit clearer.
  11. Probably not. I'm not all that big on the Corvettes. What I would like to eventually get though, is the Italeri 1:35 S-100 Schnellboot. Now that would make my day.
  12. Good news: I now have a rolling chassis (though it really won't roll, as I'll be solidly gluing the wheels on later). Bad news: Stock wheels are wider than the tires I've chosen, which I didn't notice until after all wheels/tires were assembled. I'll be able to fix that though, by inserting a spacer between the inner wheel and tire. It may be a Mickey Mouse solution, but since inner and outer wheels are now firmly anchored together, I really have no other choice.
  13. Good tip. I intend to get back to mine this summer, so I've bookmarked this for reference.
  14. The white hood is OK, but I really prefer the red one.
  15. Looking real good. Are the turn signal indicators molded onto the tops of the fenders, or separate pieces? I have the kit, but don't want to open it just to check that.
  16. Also, for most enamel paints, oven cleaner should strip the paint really well, and won't harm the plastic. Removes most chrome too.
  17. Real nice, and fast too, at least by my standards.
  18. Nice. I bought a '65 (for the camper shell), then sold the kit, but I intend to grab another, as the AMT kit actually appeared to be quite nice.
  19. Right, between torpedo netting and difficult access to the harbor/base itself, attacking by ship or submarine would have been almost impossible. As I understand it, the blast doors were usually only closed during air raids, so having the door closed on the adjacent bay may not be technically correct, but certainly saves me the trouble of having to detail that bay.
  20. I'm wondering the same thing. I just finished looking at three pages of nothing.
  21. Like several here on the site, I'm "bench-less" at the moment, doing all of my work on the dining room table for now. Over the summer however, I'll be building an 8'x12' L-shaped bench, complete with lots of shelving/storage, and incorporating an integral paint booth. General lighting by overhead can lights, task lighting by swing arm lamps. I'm very much looking forward to finishing it.
  22. Ditto. While there are certainly others here that do decent work, perhaps for reasons of personal taste, I find his models the most pleasing. If I can ever do so, I'd like mine to be as good.
  23. Sweet, as usual.
  24. Nice. She certainly was a babe, in her day.
  25. I really like the color combinations you choose, they always seem to fit the car. Nice job.
