  5. Jacobus, Pat , Rob, Sean, Thanks guys for your support and for stopping by. Sean I bought the Alaska hauler conventiona( three kits two different releases ) and four of the triple screw COEs way back when. The Coe's two are started an packed away somewhere. And two are still fresh kits. And the one for this project is a fresh kit. I am however working on some of the parts for the other one as well. I figure I will make use of all the time at the bench.and also have back up parts should I mess anything up. Be Well Gator
  6. X's 2 Looking good there Jacobus! Be Well Gator
  7. Vic, Looks like you got a new workbench and a new model to build on it. Will be watching to see what you do on this COE! Be Well Gator
  8. Really good looking old tractor and trailer. And a very impressive collection of models well displayed. Be Well Gator
  9. Maybe ???? Maybe not?? There is such a thing as practicality ! A low riding tractor with a Texas bumper and those pretty low hanging rear fenders , won't do to well pulling a lowboy or flatbed onto a construction site where the mud is a foot deep and you have to be pulled by a loader to get to the off loading point. Granted I think that some of those working long low customs a re kinda cool ! And I may build a couple . Oh and Pat There are no dumb questions. There are however dumb answers. The only real dumb question? Is the one you don't /didn't ask!! Be Well Gator
  10. Ken, Nice job on the engine detailing! Be Well Gator
  11. Curious to see where you are going with this build. Be Well Gator
  12. Sean, There may not be anyone chasing you ? But you are definitely pulling away from the pack ! The body work on the cab looks real good. Your tip about using the liquid solvent on the scribbed lines Is good . I have also used it to help prevent ghosting of removed body lines etc. Be Well Gator
  13. Sean, That dash looks really nice ! I need to get back into doing the dash paint detail thing. But I have trouble with the Tamiya paints drying so quickly. Be Well Gator
  14. Ray, No worries mate. I Know that feeling all to well. Those colors go well together. But I am sure whatever you decide will look good! Be Well Gator
  15. Good choice of colors ! I think it will look really good. Be Well Gator
  16. Gino, On your decals. you might try adding a drop or two of dish soap. it should help you slide the decals around. I know it has worked for me in the past. Be Well Gator
  17. Tom, i am not really one to advise on this subject .As I normally do not do the detail plumbing . So my advise is based on things I have read. Many people use various test nylon fishing line. And really fine solder, bell wire is in my opinion a bit large. But I guess it can be used for some things. When you get down to figuring what size a 1/4 " line is in scale it gets pretty small . So I would go with what looks right. Also you might try to check the Dutch Model site,See if they have the old articles from Truck Model World. As Howard Whitehead did a series on just that subject with diagrams on how to for plumbing a truck. If you do try it have fun with it ! Be Well Gator
  18. Nice job on a tv movie truck . I know it mast have been hard to get the info for the build. As the truck was not a major part of the show. You did a nice job on it ! Be Well Gator
  19. I say go for it ! Over the years there has been a couple of people that detailed the inside of the trailers they built. There is a lot that can be done to the inside if you have the notion to do it. I have thought about it , but it is not high on the model bucket list . Oh my comment was not in any way intended as a slur or any other negative type comment. Be Well Gator
  20. Can you say " Large Car?" Going to be very good looking with that paint job! I like it !! Be Well Gator
  21. Welcome to the Darkside of truck model building ! ON the old AMT kits be careful with the frame crossmembers. The ends that go into the frame rails are not square. If you get the chassis square it will make the rest of the build a bit easier. Good luck. And like Terry said.Any questions just ask . Be Well Gator
  22. Being raised in the snowless south.I don't know much about plows .But what you said makes a lot of sense. Besides I was wondering why they would tarp a big block of concrete ?? lol I bet Alain will make a set of chains now ! If he does I know they will be spot on ! Be well Gator
  23. Thanks guys for your comments and support ! Small set back last night. The frame came apart at the splice. Will work on it tomorrow. Picutres coming soon. Be Well Gator
  24. Jesus, i have the flattop sleeper form the Revell Peterbilt kit that I am building .if you want it I'll send it your way. We can work something out in trade later. Be Well Gator
  25. Gino, Real nice work on the motor > And I like your paint scheme! Be Well Gator
