The Revell kit is off around the grill and headlights. Too flat looking compared to the 1:1

Well, after seeing much complaining on a FB page of the AMT 72 Nova I had to grab one. I tend to do that when people say how terrible a kit is, just so i can see if it is as horrible as people say. Well it did not take long to get the body ready to paint. Some mold line issues but nothing serious to me. Attaching the fenders was no big deal either, but of course done out of sequence of the instructions. Doing a quick build real close to out of the box. So far I do not see what the belly aches about this kit are. So, this is what I accomplished since Friday along with other sub assemblies.

Let me dig thru my stuff to be sure I did not trade it already or raided for other parts.

I think I have one in my stash still, but if so, I know the dropped axle front is not there.

Still looking.......

Someone crashed!!!! Yup, ask for a new body, use that body on the Vega or Pinto modified chassis after removing the front clip! -
Monogram '39 Chevy coupe street rod, comments

Cool kit with a lot of possibilities. I built a few long ago (kit dates back to the late 70's) and enjoyed them. If I do another I will get the windshield closer to correct. Note the windshield height and A pillar thickness differences. With that the roof height looks a bit off, but the windshield fix would make it less noticeable Sorry, if it may be one of those "I see it and now I cannot forget it" moments -
The top is a type of plexi-glass, not actual glass.

Looking for one of the stock centers from the AMT '69 Chevelle Rally Wheels. I'd be interested in the set of 4 custom center if you used the stock ones already. These were cone shaped and in the convertible kits and some of the hardtop kits. Thank You

The 54's have an interior cover that snaps in place. I had one made but have not installed the snaps yet. The male end of the snaps are in the car already tho.

Looks sweet!!! -
Well Mark, the wife asked me why I drive it so much? I told her I did not buy it to look at it. So far so good, no dings from the store. The Grinch is a 1954 Ford Skyliner. On really hot days it gets pretty warm inside with that glass roof though!! Those are the days all 4 windows are down and the vents are all open!!

That's a down and dirty short tracker!

I cannot believe I missed this post!!! Anybody used the block assembly from the AMT 66 Fairlane/67 Comet? It is a very nice piece. The parts that always bugged me on the AMT injected or carburated cammers was the lack of actual water pump. The molded in pumpish looking thing does not cut it. I sourced one from a Moebius 390 for my Falcon I am disappointed with spark plug hole #5 right above the cam gear. Sadly I did not correct this on my Falcon build.

That is really looking good. The regulator and wiring is impressive.

Love these Birds! These kits need a bit more detail and obviously you added them. Great color.

Nice job! Love the color. That side trim is a booger but you did a great job with it.

Cut the shock towers out of a '69 Torino, cut the wheel front wells off the Mustang chassis plate and sand to fit it all together. Someone used to resin cast a shock tower like the Torino but I do not believe it is offered anymore.

Looks good, Nice color combo
