Flatheads with speed equipment
Sledsel replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you are wanting the early flathead with the coolant hoses in the center of the cylinder head, the Revell 40 Ford Street rod has a good one and is 1/25 scale. -
Looks to be perfect other than accessories, but that is easily swapped out. THANKS
-
Okay, I am getting ready to start on the 36 Plymouth modified and the BBC has to go. What 1/25 kits have the nicest 383/440? And does any kit have a good single plane intake for one of these engines? My '37 Chevy has a Chevy, my '40 Ford has Ford so my Mopar needs a Mopar....

Thanks everyone I have been mixing by volume and probably rushing the mix fearing setting up while pouring. I mixed a batch longer than before and seemed good this time.
-
I'll message you after I look for the promo wheels.

Well, it has not been opened for long, a month with periodic use. Mix is to be 1:1 equal mix. about 3 times I have had casts stay soft. Dry but soft and pliable. Seems all is done right otherwise. Maybe I need to mix longer?

'53 F-100 Kit Interior Resin Parts
Sledsel replied to 1972coronet's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
They are nice. When I saw he was discontinuing them I bought a few sets. Now I have more 53 Ford kits and luckily have a set leftover for a pattern or maybe try to cast the door panels. When he made wheels I bought a lot!!! Still have a sandwich bag full!!! Ed makes some wonderful stuff and I try to buy as much as I can. -
Which part is the hardener? "A" (brownish color) or "B" (yellowish clear)? I have mixed 1:1 and have had a few casts remain pliable and think I need to add a tad more hardener. Thanks!

Glad I could help.... Glad it came out good too!

The Mustang II and Ranger are incorrect. They are 2.8 and 4.0, totally different from the 3.8 in the Mustang. The Revell 92 Cougar has a 5.0 V8. Thunderbird Super Coupe would have the correct engine without the supercharger
-
I'd have been in on them also. I almost bought a JoHan Mercedes today but passed. It was $10

That's as sweet as pie!

Came out great!! I have 2 and both have broken C-pillars on the drivers side. They are shelved for now but yours really gets me wanting to finish one. I love the "plain Jane" looks of it!

My wife was looking for "whatever" today and dragged me out to several antique stores out in the middle of no place. I did see some cool stuff there and some kits but this one caught my eye. I know it's nothing special but I think I can make something cool out of it and it was cheap, like crazy cheap. It's sealed from the factory still which is a big bonus. We made a stop at Ollies..... well, ya know how that turns out sometimes.
