They do stick up a little. I will try to smooth them down. The moldings also are not squared off but beveled. I had a T Top car so I remember what they were like. Building a body from scratch, like I do, is like sculpture combined with trial and error. It takes awhile to get right.

Paper copy of decals taped on. These are Fred Cady and I believe 1/24 scale. They are a little too big. Note on T Tops. They are kind of hard to model correctly.

Almost done with the body. Shot some white paint on it. I need to tweak a couple of body lines and it will be ready for clay. The grill panel dropped down a tad in the picture. It fits flush up against the body.

This is the person who is also doing Collonade GM cars (LeMans, Century, Cutlass, Grand Am). As far as I can tell, all are done from a Revell 1977 Monte Carlo body. This had a longer wheelbase than the others, so the bodies are all out of proportion relative to the correct wheelbase and shape. It had the same wheelbase as the Grand Prix and the sedans but the others were 4 inches shorter. You can look at the bodies and see the front ends are way too long. He also copied the Revell Monte Carlo or JoHan Cutlass chassis directly and copied the Monte Carlo or Cutlass interiors directly. So for the cars he is listing the interiors are all wrong for them. I'm not knocking the guy for trying to make a living as it's a free market out there but caveat emptor-check the details of what you are bidding on before you bid. If you want accuracy, check the details. Paul is known for meticulous attention to detail.

So you built it from evergreen, made a mold, and cast it? I have the same problem with small bubbles on dash boards, door locks, and grilles. I need to build a pressure chamber to do these things. I thinl on my 75 Century project the grille had something like 39 pieces. How do you glue them down? I find it hard to be neat and keep the small parts straight.

Nice ride! Looks like a new roof for the neighbors, too!

Did you cast the grille pattern in resin?
-
Tom, did you use pre molded stock on the grille or do the bars individually?

Built from scratch. I built a 73 Buick Gran Sport and used that as a basis. I also did a 76 Century Pace Car and took the formal roof from that. All scratch built.

Back seat was Testor's white enamel, which is very thin. It needs another coat.

Just for kicks I painted the interior. White Testor's lacquer on the front seats, Tamiya TS10 French Blue on the door panels and Tamiya TS54 Light Metallic Blue on the carpeted areas. A little Molotow chrome on the trim. Ready for a dash and console.

That is incredible! Great detail. It looks like it could be on an engine stand waiting to go into a full resto.
