  1. Could you post a link for GW Trucks ? Thanks
  2. I'd like to see a kit of the Kenworth T-800 released :-)
  3. Cool ! I don't know how you crank these out in just a couple weeks, but I can't wait to see it !
  4. I've got one of the F-4270's still shrink wrapped in my "stash" Sweet kit. I think the price sticker on it is like $4.70. LOL.
  5. Where do I place my order for one of these race trailer kits ???!! what's the part number?? JT-001 ?? WOW .. suh-weeeeet :-)
  6. Re: " and then use Tenax or or solvent to weld the frame." Can you explain why ? My plan is to glue all of the cross members in with regular cement (I use Model Master Liquid Cement for Plastic Models), make sure everything is straight and square, and then hit each joint with a drop of thin super glue to "nail" it in place. So I'd like to understand why you would use Tenax or other "plastic weld" instead ? Many thanks!
  7. Hey thanks -- Much appreciate the tip about sanding those cross member ends square (both vertically and laterally). That's my biggest beef with this kit is that there really is no positive alignment provide by the cross members. Oh well. I set it aside for the past few days and will go back at it tomorrow night. Thanks for the encouragement.
  8. I'm close to Madison as well !! I build 1/25 semis and 1/24 and 1/25 NASCAR 1980's kits.
  9. I was wondering who the gal by the door is ? ;-)
  10. Thanks -- I'll do both. I'm going to heat gun the bowed rail and when it flattens out, I'll stick it under gold water right away. Then I'm going to immediately glue the crossmembers in with CA so there is no time for it to go back to where it was and I can hold it in place and "nail" it down while making sure it is straight. I think I got myself into trouble gluing one piece in at a time and waiting over night for the glue to dry before putting the next piece in. With these things, I think it's probably better to do the "whole picture" in one shot.
  11. Well, my plan was to show some pics today... that was my plan -- until i took the frame off the glass and looked down the rails. One of the rails was bowed -- I knew that going in, but figured I could "convince" it as I went. I ended up with a frame that would do some pretty good "dog tracking" with the rear wheels I've got another old Freightliner kit on the shelf -- it has the same issue. One rail is pretty good -- the other is bowed. My "plan B" is not to glue it up piece-by-piece this time, but instead try to do it in one go, using super glue so that I can hold it in place and "nail" it there without having to wait hours to dry. This way I can hold it "straight" as I glue frame parts on and have the super glue nail it as I hold it in place on the glass (on top of the building matt). What do you guys think? Short of building a complete frame jig for this thing, I'm not sure what else to do. I did try a heat gun on the bowed rail, and it seemed to help, but then it returned to its "remembered" bowed form. What a pain. I did throw the original frame across the basement -- that provided some relief :-) I even opened up one of the Round 2 kits I have -- same thing -- bowed frame rails, but not quite to the extent as the others I have. This kit really is a challenge.
  12. Yes -- thanks ! I'm new to the whole "drybrushing" thing. Can you explain more about how you applied the Humbrol 70 and 85 after painting them with Humbrol 56? Thanks !
  13. Super nice work on the Volvo -- it's really sharp !! Man... I wish I could sling a kit together half as fast as you can !
  14. I've got my eye on that structural beam option !!
  15. Suh-weeet !! I don't know how you guys sling these together so fast !!!
  16. Sweet ! What paint is that on the Maxidyne ? Looks super !
  17. It sure looks like a sweet truck. So -- I saw one post about making it an airport fueling truck (neat idea) -- most of the DM600's I've seen were used as garbage trucks, dump trucks, cement trucks, etc. I've seen a pic of one pulling a low boy trailer with a crane on it (wide/oversize load). So what is everyone going to put on the back of this truck ? Are you making the back end from scratch or some donor kit?
  18. Quite the hot rod with all that chrome !! How about adding chrome differential covers to really bling it out ! It sounds like this kit should substantially increase sales of Easy-Off . LOL
  19. Well.. if you order one, then I have to as well. LOL
  20. Saw this late -- I'm in the middle of a Freightliner cabover. But -- I'll join in on the next "group build" whatever it is ! Thanks !
  21. As my wife says when these packages arrive at the house ... "oh great.. hours of fun for the whole family" LOL.
  22. LOL... seems to take me 6 months to finish one ! I'll have to sign up every other time ;-)
  23. Wow -- nice ! What color paint did you use on the exhaust pipes ? They look fantastic !
