Scratchbuilt Timpte Super Hopper
Goodwrench3 replied to KJ790's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
OK.. I would like order some of these trailer kits !!!!!! Let me know the price and where to send the money !!!!!!!! wow. -
OK.. after putting this aside for awhile out of frustration (the entire summer), we're back online again and "hammer down". I've got a true, straight, non-warped frame assembled, rear suspension attached, cab halves are glued, and will be priming and painting the engine block assembly and transmisson shortly. Not giving up!

Wow.. when you go into production on that trailer kit -- let me know !!! I'll order 3 of them !!! -
If that's true, then it would save me a bunch of work on mine that I'm working on. I'm dreading that part of the work -- getting the front wheels to tuck in under the cab correctly.

Very nice ! What technique did you use to narrow up the front end so that the front tires fit properly inside the body ? Aftermarket front axle ? cut and section the kit axle ? remove the front brake drums ? Thanks!

Can you tell me how you painted (what you used) the exhaust manifold ? It looks great. Thanks -
I really wish someone would make a "current" tanker trailer like the "oval" shaped tankers on the road today (see pic in link) -- instead of the "round" cylinder tanks. http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/mike_boyd/2008/01-31/loves_frtlnr_columbia_i40_ok_01-08.html

Hi all: I'm going to try the Tamiya spray fine light gray primer for the first time. The instructions on the can specify: "spray 2 or 3 thin coats". Do you guys normally do this with this primer? Or blast it in one coat ? I'm priming a truck engine assembly, not a body. If so, how long do you normally wait between coats ? Thanks
