Did a bit more work on this project. I made exhaust pipes from inserting an aluminum piece of wire into a plastic tubing and bending it to fit. I left an end of the wire sticking out of the tube to be able to connect to the cylinder after drilling a hole in the cylinder. I finished the front forks and springs and chromed them. All the body parts are made but I have to figure out the color. Thanks.

I had this idea brewing for a few months so I decided to make it happen. I built this Jeep many years ago. I also had these monster truck tires in my tire box. So I thought I would combine them for a low riding Jeep. I know monster trucks are real high but I liked this to be low. I carved off the fenders front and back. I then decided to make a roof in a "C" cab form. Then I decided to add a surfboard. So I scratch built one for the roof. I didn't like the flat Jeep dashboard so I took two old Vette dashs and combined them with an extension so it would span the distance. I liked the grab bar for the passenger. That's all I have so far. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. All constructive criticism is welcome. Dave

I started with a Thunder Chopper glue bomb I got a NNL East a while back when I lived in New Jersey. After removing all the parts and cleaning off the glue I cut the frame and added a scratchbuilt hardtail frame. I also cut off the neck and raked it to the proper angle. I took apart the forks and never liked the springer part. It just looks to be the wrong scale. So I cleaned up the forks and shortened them. I also removed the springs and made my own. To make the springs I have several sizes of wood screws. I choose the correct scale of screw thread and find the correct scale aluminum wire and wrap the wire around the screw threads. After getting the correct amount of coils I cut the wire and separate the coils with the back of my Exacto knife. For the fenders I used a nightlight I got from the dollar store years ago. I actually bought about 7 of them as I use them for other projects. The radius is a bit large so I cut the side of the curve off on both sides and its thin enough to bend to the correct radius. I add a slice of evergreen stock to the middle and round off the top with putty. Then I cut it to fit the tire. I’m not sure I want the front wheel with the drum brake, I may not want any front brake. I couldn’t find a premade gas tank and the one that comes with the kit wasn’t what I was looking for. I ended up taking two of the same tanks from the motorcycle parts box and glued them together. The parts box ones had flat bottoms and I wanted a curved bottom (nothing wrong with a curved bottom!). For the handlebars I used wire solder and form it using a trace of the bends. I used the correct size tubing for the hand grips. I cut off a hand control from a handgrip from the parts box and drilled a small hole in the end of the handle to insert the cable wire when the time comes. I glued it to the grip. I didn’t want use the oil tank that came with the kit as I didn’t like the shape for the chopper look. I took the big mufflers from the kit and altered them to create the oil tank. All constructive criticism is welcome. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. Dave

I love bubble tops and fins. I am forever trying to re-create the ‘60’s show car look. Big Daddy Roth is my design idol. His cars are so out there. I am not trying to make his designs better but just trying to add other features from my imagination. I love looking at a pile of parts and imagining what I can make out of it…..sometimes it works and sometimes it all gets cut up into pieces and I start on something else.I took the Roth Road Agent and spliced a VW rear body and a pair of ’57 Chevy fins. The original bubble didn’t look right so I filled it in and added my own bubble. Interior is all scratch built, with a parts box seat. Scratch built front end that I kicked out from the body. Most peoples’ choice for engines would be the Corvair engine that came with the Road Agent but I didn’t want to use that. I chose a Porsche engine from the old Revell Competition Porsche model. I think it’s a 1955 Porsche Carrera by the looks of the engine.Painted in Lime Ice with a white pearl mist on the front and fin inserts. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. Dave

Thanks Guys! I still need to improve on painting faces. -
Thanks! The bikes: The Triumph was a gluebomb I got at a show. I think its the Revell parts pak Triumph. Man I would like to find another one. I did the following work to it: Rebuilt the hardtail and added the disc brake. Scratchbuilt the pipes Scratchbuilt the entire springer front end. I wrapped wire for the springs and made the forks and handlebars. Scratchbuilt the seat - its cushioned too! Scratchbuilt the oil tank Scratchbuild all footpegs and hand grips Airbrushed in nail polish (I cant remember the exact color) The Panhead: I got this Panhead engine at a show as a gluebomb. I used the frame of the bike from the Cherry Bomb Scratchbuilt the rear fender Scratchbuilt the gas tank from 6 pieces of random plastic Scratchbuilt the handlebars Scratchbuilt the oil tank Scratchbuild all footpegs and hand grips Thanks, Dave

I know there has always been that Ford and Chevy rival but I love both so I decided to combine them. I started with two vehicles. One was a ’49 Merc and the other was a Chevy SSR Pickup. I cut up the SSR and the Merc. Combined the Merc Front and the SSR Bed. I puttied, sanded and primed this beast. I added rear fender molding and drip rails for the doors. A wet sand and then the base coat of black was applied. I installed a ’57 Thunderbird engine and found some seats in the parts box for the interior. I also cut the windows down to fit. I added a cover on the bed to hide the cutout for the rear end. I fabricated front inside wheel wells from styrene. Unfortunately I lost the interior pics – thanks Photobucket! Shes done in hot pink and black and her name is Rosy. After building ole’ Rosy from the Merc and the Chevy SSR P/U, I had the rear of the Merc and the front of the SSR left over…..and what do you know! They look pretty cool together! I added a small width to the rear and glued it together. I cut out the rear fenders and scratch built some new fenders that were close in shape to the front fenders. I also continued the body ridge from the top of the doors to the trunk to make it more ascetically pleasing. I scratch built the headrests and molded them into the body. I filled in the tail light holes and re-drilled for the new ones for the sunken look. I used some brand of blue nail polish for the final color. Thanks for looking and I hope you like them.

MPC Dodge Deora

Nice job and nice color! I build one of these and had an issue with that front windshield/door as it's very finicky and doesn't lay right. Is that your workroom, if so it's AWESOME? It looks like a hobby shop. -
Beautiful work! I always loved those wheels. That interior looks so real!

70s trike
Nosferatu replied to Vettegasser's topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
This is looking really nice. I like the springer front a lot.. Maybe you can drop the front of the tank a little bit. I've been wanting to build a trike also.
