  1. I had considered doing that myself for a 555 on another project, but I though that the 555s and 470s were physically smaller than the 903s and I've never found accurate dimensions on both to compare. From what I understand the 555 and the 470 were physically the same size though.
  2. According to what I read the Cummins was a V-8 185 (I assume this is HP) appears to be a 470 C.I.D., and the Perkins was a 6-354 (I assume that the 354 is C.I.D.). Perkins: Cummins:
  3. Looks great! I'm glad to see this one again!
  4. Thanks Jim!! Thanks! The hood does take some effort. Thanks so much Charles! I did debate about the hood chrome along with the roof top accessories. It may not have been the best choice to leave it off, but in the end, I think I liked it better off. I also know that technically the hood release is part of the front hood chrome, but I figured that maybe this one could have a good ol' redneck conversion. Thanks Carl!!!
  5. This was built for fun. It is a bit of a custom and definitely not a stock build. The cab and fender assembly is resin from KP Conversions. The frame is an old AMT R-Model Mack frame that I got off of Ebay before the kit was re-released, The front springs, front axle, fuel tanks and all the brake chambers came from the R-Model as well. The steering box was from the parts box from an unknown source. The rear suspension is Peterbilt Air Leaf from the snap kit, and I believe the axles as well as the pogo stick to be from the Road Boss kit. The fifth wheel plate is from the snap Peterbilt and the fifth wheel is AMT. The engine is a Detroit 4-71 that was cut down from a Spaulding Trading and Shipping 6-71 with a few parts from an AMT 8v-71 and a few parts box accessories. The transmission and front bumper are from the Ertl Transtar II. The seats are from the Monogram CJ-7. The wheels and tires are AMT from who knows where. It's a little different, but I'm happy with how it turned out. 15. Thanks for all the comments guys! I now have the interior done. I know that it's a little different, but I made the interior shiny and restored. The red gives a nice contrast to the outside. I added air valves, gauges and a tach-o-graph, and of course the shifter. 16. Great minds or Brians think alike. I would like to do a 6v-53 myself. Did you fair the storm okay where you're at?
  17. Sorry Jerry it's been too long to remember. I've built two of those and I most likely glued the bucket in place. Unless they fit very snug, I usually glue them.
  18. This would be an Awesome build if it had came from a kit, but when I look at all of your fabrication, casting and scratch building that went into this model, it goes to a level far beyond extraordinary. Charlie, you truly are a Craftsman!! EXCELLENT WORK!!! IT looks incredible!!
  19. Very Nice looking 4300!!
  20. The bulk of the rain just stopped a couple of hours ago, but still rain showers. There are several roads flooded including the road between me and my mother-in-laws. We live less than a mile off of High Rock Lake. The Yadkin river feeds the lake and the forecast is for the South Yadkin to crest at 33 feet above flood stage. That's why I'm still up, I've been trying to figure out how high my house is above lake level. It looks like about 40 feet. Praying that there is no more flooding! Thanks for asking!
  21. Looks Great Pat!! Nice work!!
  22. Spotless Build!! Looks Awesome!! Top notch work!!
