  1. Thanks for the kind words everyone!!! I'm wanting to put this one behind me. My decals were old and totally fell apart in water, so I have some coming from Jerry. I finished the interior today. I decided to cast some Tac-o-graphs/ Speed-o-graphs since I seem to be using them and I don't know of a source for them. 2. I'm usually not a big 57 Chevrolet fan, but this one is right up my alley. I like the plane Jane, 6 cylinder choice. Excellent work!! It's hard to believe that it is diecast.
  3. Thanks Tom! That is one of Dan's engines. Thanks to everyone who commented!!
  4. This isn't really a problem, but the Forum is in the old format when I'm not logged in with a message about being out of date. I tried clearing cookies, but it looks the same. Once logged in, it looks great. It may be something that administration can't see is the only reason I mention it. Thanks for the hard work!! It looks great logged in.
  5. Thanks Guys!!! I hope that I am on the home stretch! The back windows were two different sizes and a little large in the casting. I redid them. They are not perfect, but I think they look better. I was able to get some paint on today. I'm really happy with the paint. It looks like a truck now. Some window glass, interior work and a few more details and this one will be done. 6. This one is going to be good!! Looks great already!!
  7. I like!!!! Great Work!!!!
  8. Peterbilts and KWs were generally white with all engines as IH was red (except with their engine). Cummins engines themselves as found in other applications were painted tan. Depending on what you are building the color can vary. A factory fresh KW would have most likely had a white engine. If you are depicting it later in life, an overhauled engine could have been "Cummins tan" or any color for that matter. I saw an old P.I.E. video and it looked like they painted all of their rebuilds grey.
  9. Thanks Pat! I went ahead and tried my luck at scratch building some hinges. They're not perfect, but they'll do: IMG_6475 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6476 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6500 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6502 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6505 by Brian Smith, on Flickr IMG_6506 by Brian Smith, on Flickr I also made a new air filter assembly. The one that came with the cab was a little large for my taste. There were many styles used these trucks, so I went with a smaller style. 10. I like different!! Looking forward to see what you come up with!
  11. Now that is a sharp looking paint job!!!!
  12. OOOOOHHHH! I Like that!!!! I sure would like to see more pictures! Looks Great! Great Work!!
  13. Looking good! PVC pipe works great for tanks, also K&S makes aluminum tubing that you can probably find at a hardware store that also makes great tanks. K&S tubing is what I made the tanks on my Highbinder out of.
  14. Glad to see you back on this one!! Great work!
  15. Excellent work!!! Looks perfect!! I like the sander!
  16. Pat, where did you get the hinges for your CNT Dodge fenders? These fenders hinge in a similar way. I've considered just making them removable instead of hinging them, but we'll see.
  17. I don't know if you could learn much from me, but I'm sure I could learn a lot at your engine building shop.
