Peterbilts and KWs were generally white with all engines as IH was red (except with their engine). Cummins engines themselves as found in other applications were painted tan. Depending on what you are building the color can vary. A factory fresh KW would have most likely had a white engine. If you are depicting it later in life, an overhauled engine could have been "Cummins tan" or any color for that matter. I saw an old P.I.E. video and it looked like they painted all of their rebuilds grey.

Looking good! PVC pipe works great for tanks, also K&S makes aluminum tubing that you can probably find at a hardware store that also makes great tanks. K&S tubing is what I made the tanks on my Highbinder out of.

Pat, where did you get the hinges for your CNT Dodge fenders? These fenders hinge in a similar way. I've considered just making them removable instead of hinging them, but we'll see.

I don't know if you could learn much from me, but I'm sure I could learn a lot at your engine building shop.

This is one of my favorite builds of all time!! The subject matter! You can't go wrong with a cabover KW! The color combo, Spoke wheels, opening doors, single stack conversion, and the excellent weathering! Excellent Work! I'm glad you posted this!

It looks like you nailed it under the hood too, master cylinder and all! Looks great!! Jim there were a lot of them around here. I had the "privilege" to work on several of these, including a couple of engine jobs. I've never seen a diesel in one, but there may have been some diesel versions. The C50, 60 and even the 70, the F600, 700, and the Louisville 800 were in about the same class I think. Most of the ones around here had box vans or stake beds (some that dumped) on them, there were a few regular dumps, a few tankers and of course school buses and fire trucks. I never saw one as a tractor in person though I think I have seen some photos. I was given one of these one time, and all I had to do was pay to have it hauled home and I turned it down. It would run too. Live and learn.
