WOW!!! This thing is awesome!! You really nailed the trailer too!!! One of the first things that caught my eye was the Utility style landing gear that you made. It really looks authentic!! Excellent Work!! You truly are a craftsman!!
The 72 also offered the NH 230, NHC 250, NTC 290, NTC 335, and the V 903 Cummins, along with all of the Detroit options, but like Jim said, the sky is the limit unless you are wanting to build a replica of an original production model.
Brian, this may not be the best way, but I usually take a picture and put it into a word program a play with it until I get the size that I want. I cover it with clear box tape after I have printed it.
Looking great by the way!!!
One of the pictures that I have of a 69 has these vents without the control levers and has a roof a/c unit with the a/c vents in the ceiling. So you may be right Sam. These three control levers may have had to do with a/c. I also noticed that the 68 that I have pictures of without dash vents has a very simple heater box with manual doors much like an H model Mack. Maybe Tim will be along to shed some light on this.
I've always "assumed" that these vents were for defrost. I have a picture of a 69 that has them, and the pictures of 68 and older that I have doesn't have them. It looks almost like your second picture still has a type of vent grills in that spot. The ones that I have either have nothing or a fan mounted in that spot.
Great work!! I used to drive a wrecker with a bed similar to these and have been wanting to build one in scale. Did you scratch build them or did you source them from somewhere? The trucks look awesome!!!
