  1. Very nice!! I like the frame color!!
  2. I've been watching this one from the start. Very impressive work!! It turned out great!! I really like this build!
  3. Very nice work! Great job raising the cab!!!
  4. I used to have all those old truck drivin' songs: Widow Maker, Phantom 309, Giddy-up- Go, Convoy, Give me 40 acres, I'm a Truck, Freightliner Fever, Teddy Bear, lookin at the world through a windshield, How fast them trucks can go, and the list goes on. Wolf Creek Pass was one of my favorites. The bad thing is that I almost quote most of them, but have trouble remembering my bank account number. (L.O.L.) Hey nobody has mentioned the "White Night."
  5. I think that I still have one that I bought about 10 years ago. I think it was made by Hendrix. If your interested send me a PM. I'll have to do some digging.
  6. Looks good! I like the yellow and black!
  7. Very Nice Build!! And it has survived all these years. Wow!!
  8. I like the paint choice! My H-Model cab is going to be yellow as well.
  9. Thanks for posting that story Randy. Like Sam, I thought is was just a song. I'm also curious as to whether the song "Widow Maker" was inspired by true events. I remember truck drivers telling similar accident stories years ago in the early 80's.
  10. Thanks for the kind words Jacobus!!! Thanks for the kind words as well Pat, but when I look at your builds, I think that I may need to take some classes from you in Ontario.
  11. So the Mack engine was tilted as well as the Cummins. I did not know that. Thanks Sam! And here I thought that Mopar was the only one who made a slant six. This stuff is good knowledge for future builds. What about the B-61? Looking at the picture of the Cummins above, it looks like it has a normal oil pan on it. So, the engines would be noticeably leaning if viewing the pan underneath? Does anyone have any in truck photos of these slant sixes?
  12. I know that this is an old thread, but I'm glad that it was brought back up. Absolutely Awesome build!!!
  13. The more you let a T-Lite burn down and "puddle", the smaller the flame gets and less heat is puts out. I've went the too much heat rout as well, and I'm sure that I will probably ruin more plastic in the future.
  14. Thanks for posting these pictures Ray. I have been wanting to see a good back view of a tilted Cummins. Not to hijack this thread, but this leads me to a question that I've often wondered. What trucks were the Cummins tilted in? Were Cats ever used in a tilted configuration? I know that I have seen the short hood Road Boss with a tilted Cummins, so I assume that all 92" B.B.C. trucks that used this cab would have tilted a Cummins when used. I also read that the short hood Brockway had tilted Cummins. What about a Ford Louisville, or maybe a GMC Brigadier, or others? Just curious.
  15. Very nice Western Star and trailer! Great Work!!!
  16. That is one mean looking truck!! Looking great!!!
  17. Thanks Dennis and Alain!! Pat, let me begin by saying that I'm not a pro. I have tried many ways of bending pipe with not very good results. I've tried aluminum, both solid and hollow. I've tried plastic, both solid and hollow, with and without heat, but this way seemed to work the best so far. I took a T-Lite candle from my wife's stash. With the T-Lite burning, I rotated the area that was to be bent over the flame like a rotisserie. I heated it slowly, not too close to the flame until the plastic was almost putty like. Bending the tube too soon before it is soft enough results in kinking. Once I achieved the angle that I was after, I held it still until it cooled enough to hold its shape. A few stubborn spots required sanding to make them look right. I was pretty satisfied with all four pipes on this build using this method. This may not be the best method, but it works until my wife runs out of candles. I hope this helps...Brian
