  2. Thanks Dan and Kevin!!! I started making the stack mounts and stacks today. I also decided to do something different with the breathers. This one will have dual breather boxes from the Road Boss kit.

  7. Thanks Sam!! Michael: I was a car mechanic full time for over twenty years, but only a part time truck mechanic, so what I'm about to say may not apply to all trucks and power steering reservoirs on cars are usually mounted to the pump. The power steering system is not 100% closed. The reservoir is not completely full leaving air room to allow for expansion caused by heat. The caps are usually vented to allow air to escape during expansion. I originally mounted my reservoir without thinking, something that seems to be a habit of mine. Looking back, every reservoir that I've ever seen was mounted higher than the pump. Because the cap is vented the weight of the fluid would probably drain itself to the reservoir if it was lower than the pump and the pump would not be able to pick it back up and even if it did you would probably have constant wines from air in the system. Thanks for the interest!! Thanks for the comments and encouragement!!
  8. Cool! That's a well over 300" wheelbase. I'm liking it. Remember, this is not the "Practical Rig Build Off" it is the "Big Rig Build Off". I think that you have nailed the word "BIG" or at least long. While I'm a big fan of "Practical" rigs, especially in model building, this is going to be a very cool build. Great work!!
  9. Looks like the real thing waiting in the shop.
  10. What gear am I in anyway??? I have made the shifters. The old H-Models didn't have a remote shift tower. The shifter came straight out of the transmission and angled up into the cab. That is the approach that I went with. I attempted to make shift handles like you used to find at the truck stops that were that transparent metallic green. From the driver side: First shifter is the main, second is auxiliary, third is remote auxiliary. Theses trucks didn't have a very good shift boot set up. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that yet. Shifter shafts are about .65" diameter in scale, about the same diameter as the shifter in my pickup.
  11. Now that's a long truck! I thought that my Mack was long. Looking Great!!! Just curious; what is the wheelbase?
