  1. Looks great! I like the steel disc rims in the first pictures better. Looking forward to seeing more. This brings me to a question. I have seen several very nicely done model trucks with spoke wheels on the steering axle and disc or Budd type on the drive axles. This is some thing that I have never seen in person. I have seen plenty of spoke drive and Budd steers on the same truck. I've even converted an R Model Mack from spoke steer to Budd steer that still had spoke drives on it. So my question is: is this more of a western thing, or maybe a northern or even Canadian thing? Where is this set up commonly found?
  2. Awesome build!! Congratulations on the win. Definitely one of a kind!
  3. This is a very cool project!! I'm looking forward to seeing more of this one.
  4. Wow! That's not polished and cleared? That is one slick paint job! What kind of paint are you using if you don't mind my asking? Great work!!
  5. Thanks for the comments guys!!! Sam, the reservoir didn't look right where it was mounted. Now it looks more like a p/s reservoir. Besides, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that where I had mounted it would have caused all of the fluid to drain back out of the pump when it was parked. It is now mounted higher than the pump, and I think that it looks more like it is supposed to. Thanks Tom. I wanted to do something a little different. I am however a big fan of Detroit green. When we were kids my daddy gave me and my brother each a spray can of the real stuff. You know, the cans sold by Detroit, that said: "Danger, contains lead". We both painted our metal GMC Astros with those cans. They became the ugliest GMC's that you could ever see. The good ol' days.
  6. Actually the second one is the power steering reservoir. It looks very similar to a Luberfiner, but there is a dipstick on the left of the top. Peterbilts like the one that you are building Michael often mounted a Luberfiner and a power steering reservoir on the same bracket on the side of the front of the cab and looked almost like there were two Luberfiners on the truck. I may mount this one higher than it is mounted now. It probably should be raised some. Thanks for all the comments guys.
  7. Thanks Sam!! I really was going to try to cast this one, but I'm all out of silicon.
  8. Looking Great!! I like the color! It is very similar to the color that I painted my long hood Bighorn, yours looks much better though.
  9. Sam, there is a 3500 Chevrolet model hood for $9,999.00 plus $4.99 shipping OR Best Offer from that seller that has been mentioned several times here to go with your KW. Maybe the KW price is just a misprint, but the hood is not. Waterburybob on the other hand is a top notch seller and has some awesome stuff. I just received my purchase from him today.
  10. This is a KW wrecker that I see commonly here in Salisbury. It belongs to Kepley House moving and Grading and a little bit of everything else. It has a mural on the side of a man in overalls leaning on the Vietnam Memorial Wall with the reflections of his fallen friends looking back from the wall. It would make a great model if someone could get the mural right.
  11. I really like the color!! This build makes me want to build one of these more every time that I see it. Top notch work!!
  12. Very nice looking Volvo!! Great work!!
  13. Very nice looking trailers!! Excellent work!!
  14. Thanks for the comments and encouragement guys!!! I had been trying to locate a resin air drier like the one Clint Freeman used to make with no luck. I took a shot at scratch building one. Not totally happy with it, but it didn't turn out too bad.
  15. Very nice!! You even blocked the fifth wheel for the frameless dump. Great work! I really like the trailer!!
  16. Wow that is a nice looking Brockway!! Excellent Work!!! Did you hand paint the lettering on the door?
  17. Very Nice Build!!! Excellent Work!!
  18. This is common with most every hobby. I used to restore old tractors, and people would part out perfectly good tractors to make more money off of the parts. I have no problem with people asking what ever they want for their merchandise because I have the option of saying no thank you and walk away. I frequent Ebay looking for model truck kits and some of those parts for sale at insane prices have been listed for two years and have not sold. There is a glue bomb 8v-92 Detroit that keeps popping up from time to time without selling, and it is very clearly the same one. With that said, I have also purchased a few parts to keep from buying an entire kit when it was cost effective. Remember: an item is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. That is why everything that I have is not worth anything. (L.O.L.)
