  1. The grilles are similar but definitely different. The Louisville has 6 vertical bars and the W only has 3. The Louisville has 9 horizontal bars counting the top and bottom and the W only has 8.
  2. Another awesome trade with Needlenosehunter. Thanks again Blake!
  3. Thanks Victor! I won’t be opening the grille on this one. If I were to, I would totally remake the grille and I don’t think that I want to tackle that right now.
  4. Thanks Jeff! I have always thought that these cabs looked a little off. Without doing major surgery, I tweaked the cab just a bit, and I think that it helped. The front is too long compared to the sides. I took 2 scale inches off of the front. The curve over the wheel goes too far back. I moved it forward some. The lower front section of the cab corners was too square and I rounded them off some. The lights need to be recessed some as well. I’m not a professional, but I think that it helped some. We will see when it is finished.
  5. Me a few years ago sitting in the Rubber Duck truck.
  6. This is the second in my Carolina fleet. I started this a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been doing a little work on the cab. It will have a 8v-71. I was going to put spoke wheels on it, but I have a set of Clint Freeman D hole Budds that I am going to put on it. I have a total of 4 Carolina trucks planned, The Autocar that is finished, this WT9000, a B61 Mack and an F8000 Ford. This is the start.
  7. I have a couple of reference photos if you need them, I will dig them up.
  8. Cool project! I like it! My daddy broke his finger in one just like that. It didn’t have power steering. He turned out into traffic and as the steering wheel was spinning back on its own, it caught his finger and broke it. This project calls for a 6-71 Detroit! Looking forward to seeing more!
  9. There are a lot of different kinds of frameless dumps. Gary Wallace used to offer some, but sadly, he is no longer with us. The Fruehauf kit can be converted into one with some work. You can make a pretty nice one by putting two together. Scratch building is always an option as well. 3d printing might be an option as well. Don’t forget to pin the fifth wheel on the truck when you build one.
  10. Looks awesome! You are the master on these trucks!
  11. Cool build Chuck!! I like the hood! It looks like a former Carolina Freight hood.
  12. Those look pretty good to me. I would also be interested in some. I too have been looking for some for quite a while now. Dave used to make some, but his mold got worn out and he quit making them a while before he passed.
  13. Very impressive work! It looks great!
  14. Wow!! That looks amazing!! Excellent work Jeff!!
  15. I have seen Brad Wike’s truck in person several times. The truck has been completely changed to 22.5 tubeless drives or maybe even 24.5” and the Page and Page single drive has been swapped out for tandem drive. The front wheels are 22” with 22/ 10:00 tires. One thing that I noticed on the trailer is that the tires are mix matched. One axle has 24” tires and the other 22” tires. I’m not sure how original they are but they are definitely old. To me the wheels on the truck in the movie look like 22” as well. Look at the front wheels and the distance between the lugs and the edge of the rim. It definitely looks bigger than 20” to me. Zoom in and you can see the size.
  16. Wow Francis!! How have I been missing this one? I just went through this whole thread. Amazing work as usual!! I’m looking forward to seeing more!! I’ll be watching!
  17. Looks great! I like the slick bed!
  18. Beautiful Charles! Another excellent example of your craftsmanship! Top notch work!
  19. Thanks Ken!! Thanks Jim!! Thanks Mathias!! Thanks Mario!! I have collected so many left over parts over the years from resin conversions, I thought that I would try to keep from parting out another kit on this one. Thanks Chris!! Thanks Warren!! You know that I like Old School! Thanks Blake!! Thanks Steve!! The inspiration photo that I used had a short red single axel beaded van. When room allows, one day I hope to build a trailer of some kind. Thanks Steve! Thanks Victor!! It just has a generic AMT Cummins out of the parts bag in it. I realize that it would have had the 743 C.I.D. Cummins instead of the 855, but I didn't open the hood, so from underneath, it will pass. Technically it's curbside.
  20. Looks great! I like these old single drive cabovers!!
  21. There’s several of them around here in North Carolina.
  22. Nothing fancy, as basic as it gets.
  23. This is the Strato-models Autocar DC 75/100 kit. The frame rails were in the parts box from an old Freightliner kit. The cross members are from the parts box. The front wheels and rear tires are resin. Everything else is from the parts box. The decals are thanks to Charles Rowley.
